Congratulations. You made the correct choice, but whatever you had chosen would have been the correct choice. Could not go wrong with either of them.

They are doing an annual service tomorrow and delivering on a flatbed to my house on Saturday. I will take some photos and post them as soon as I get my hands on her. I don't think I can sleep for next a couple of days. I wish tomorrow is Saturday. I better take some melatonins and try to get some sleep.

Thank you Piper! I couldn't agree with you more. I think I would look much better in the Handling gte with a bald spot on head than in a gtb with a full set of hairs. Who cares about bald spots anyway.

Well done in buying a 599.
Re the owners mine had 4 owners in the first two years ! It was not because the car was bad but more a case of them wanting to enjoy it, and sell it before it depreciated too much. I came in just at the right time and the car is now worth just over what I paid for it almost 4 years ago, and boy I have I enjoyed it.

    Congratulations.

The HGTE package is excellent and you won't regret your choice.

I will say however you couldn't have gone wrong with either decision.

    Enjoy and welcome aboard!

Piper is so accurate it's not even funny. A regular 599 cannot be used unless you are tracking it regularly and that's kinda outta the question as very very very few would push it to it's limits for fear of totaling such a large sum of money...

I will probably be labeled the bastard child after this next comment - but $210 on a used car is wild and while it is supposed to be a wild & emotional purchase and life is short - I've just learned a lot from my current situation.

Angelino - Do not let any of this or others comments sway you. There is no other feeling than taking delivery of such an amazing piece of machinery and work of art all wrapped into one package. I firmly believe that the 599 will be the greatest car I will ever own or have owned. Ferrari got this model as correct, if not more correct than the 308/328 legacy.

That begs the question: shouldn't something so great, not even have any questions of it's worth???

    Hhahahahah

There "might" be a few HGTE kits available from Ferrari. The last price I heard was only $15K for the complete kit from Ferrari North America. I dont know where you live but you might want to ask your local dealer about this. If you can secure the HGTE kit then 2008 with a cost saving of $25K is an easy decision for you. I also like the 1 owner aspect of 2008 ONLY IF you have full service history on the car. Best of luck!

That is a very interesting point and highly relevant if somebody wanted to hold the car as a collectors car. Thanks for the data...I might be in the market for a low mileage 2010 HGTE. :)

Hi Terry -- I've communicated a few times with you on the 456/550/575 circuit (I have a 1999 550) and was wondering if you could be so kind to share your views with moving from my 550 to a 599 (either base model of HGTE). Thanks. Frank

Frank- Right now the Maranellos are appreciating and the 599s, as always for relatively new V12 Ferraris except special models, are still depreciating. Dynamically, the 599, especially the HGTE, has it all over the Maranellos. Interiors are more modern too. Maranellos are much smaller and prettier, 599 is bigger, meaner-looking, and much more modern in looks.

I would wait until next summer and see what is happening in the market. By then, a top flight 550 may get you most of the way to an HGTE. Eventually, that will change, but it will be a few years. Unless the Maranellos turn out to be collector Ferraris.

All a matter of taste and what you want. The 599 is newer and likely will have fewer maintenance issues, although we have the 550 pretty well dialed in and know how to update the few problem areas that cause maintenance issues. No belts is a pretty good incentive for picking up a 599. Production of 550s and 575Ms was about the same as the 599 at around 5000.

That is great! I am truly happy for you. When I was looking at 360s (because I didn't want to spend the extra $30K for an F430) my wife urged me to spend the money and get what I really wanted - so I did. Nice to see someone do the same without having to get kicked in the butt to do it. Congratulations!

Gorgeous, congrats. I think you made a wise choice to get the newer car with factory HGTE. When it comes time to sell, it will stand out amongst the other 599's. Enjoy your new ride, it's a beauty.

btw, your decision is a good one because as a previous post mentioned they brought in far fewer 2010 HGTE's than previous years which I believe to be relevant down the road IF you ever sell her. so...now figure out how to download more pics for ALL of us to enjoy! Congrats again!

I just went for a ride along the pch and I gotta say, "I Am Completely Blown Away"!!! I was concerned and worried if I made a right decision to go with 2010. I am so happy with the decision I made. No regrets what so ever. The whole package starting from the seats, rims, suspensions, the shifting, puts this gtb at a whole different platform in my opinion. I love my 599. I will try to post some pictures first thing tomorrow morning.
