Why not the whole family, it could help all 308 owners. And why not make them all stickys.

But start with early carbs :D

While looking to complete my car with all the little goodies I'm learning. There are many different different pouches. Leather, fabric, different weaving, different edges etc.

Narrow temporary spare tires or full size. What is correct for which.

I can post what I found but I don't really know what is correct.

Let's start with the easiest one, the 328: the essence of simplicity

    Spare wheel:
all european cars got the space saver one, which rim was silver in color for the first half of production, "gunmetal dark gray" for the second half (the date and chassis # for the change is not yet identified).
However, in some country the laws did not authorize the space saver, so the cars got a "full size" front wheel (7''), most notably Switzerland and the UK.
US cars got first the full size I believe for a short time, then the space saver.

As for the pouch, cars got a tan leather pouch for which the design of the flap with the securing rivet vaired (sometimes pointed, sometimes rounded); during the last year of production, many 328s were delivered with a burgubndy colored leather pouch.

    208-308-328 GTB/GTS owner's pouch history.

    from top and from left:

    1983
    1986
    1987
    1988
    1989
    1990

The last one (the biggest, bottom, right side) is a 348 pouch. The dark red is '88-'89 model, the one with some water damage is a late '89 model in thicker Cuoio Schedoni (a special order? who knows) GTB turbo. Fabrik pouch is since 1980 (or even before up to 1985 QV/ 208 turbo). Leather starts with 328/ turbo intercooler. The only not showed is the 75-78 (?) first fabrik model with the laurel crowns instead of the prancing horses.

    ciao

My US spec, '87 has the 'space saver' spare and a tan leather manual pouch

Question - (and apologies, I haven't had time to search the archives) - is there a list that shows what would have been the 'original' tires on a particular year of the 328?

I ask because I have seen people talk about Michelins, but my spare is a Goodyear Eagle - and goodyear still makes Eagles that fit...

The hold down bolt looks correct but it is supposed to go through one of the lug bolt holes not the center hole.

It looks like mine, it should go through a wheel lug hole.

The european 328s were delivered with Goodyear Eagle NCT as standard original mount when new, or Pirellis as an option.
Michelins did not made their come back on 328s as standard original mount until april 1988, when the french cars where delivered with the MXX, a new "Michelin in inches" (So not akin to the TRX, which was in mm).
As for the slim spare, the question today is largely academic, as no manufactured has the new spare tyre for the space saver rim on offer...
