Yes. It makes it seem like Ferrari didn't put a lot of effort in designing.

    those wanting a smaller car...

where does one put the 20" wheels with 345 tires... the current wider tire / wheel sizes use up a lot of space...

engine bays can be made smaller if we delete options like a/c, power steering and brakes, in line cylinder engines and the extra plumbing space required by performance intakes / exhausts and turbo charging... it's a mm here and there, it all adds up

in the end it becomes the same cry as for manual transmissions, it leaves the manufacturer's order book is looking for buyers... don't place the blame on the manufacturer and their designers... kind of hard to sell something when there are no buyers... the order book speaks the truth about what the current buyer wants...

If Ferrari truly wanted to honor the heritage of the Dino they would have to knock 1Klb's off the base 488 platform (if used) and honor the V6 heritage.

Car would cost more than an F12 - Lightweight is extremely expensive

I disagree. Make a true minimalist retro car ie scrap all the electronic do dads and the F1 transmission and get back to the basic's.

This is very interesting as I just came back from the factory and saw this very car in the flesh. It was in black almost Matt black when I pointed it out to our tour guide she just turned the subject ( not that she would be in the know)

The other interesting thing was at the Moedna sud exit from the autostrada there were 3 Alfa 4c's all masked up parked by the road which I thought odd given that Alfa is up in Milan?

Don't know what that means other than there is definitely a prototype at Ferrari that looks like the blue car posted here - it is very pretty in person .

Well said, if there MUST be one, THIS is truly the way to go. Offering 5 or 6 color choices and a seriously abbreviated option list would also help.

    It might work...

That is super super cool. The 4c's all masked up gets me rolling! The car that I think most folks here want (me included) pretty much is the 4c with a Larger NA engine, No power steering (4c) and a stick (4c should offer North America). Also, maybe a facelift-and this one looks great

Personally I'd love to see this with a small v8 flat crank NA engine. Hell, stick a 3.3 liter engine in there and transverse mount it. It would be their first transverse mounted engine since the 328-and it makes sense bc of space and weight

That said, who knows what the hell they are doing with those 4c's. Also, much of what I'm saying here is different than the 488...and the guys behind the gate are never going to stick the horse on a car that could potentially sway folks to buy a cheaper car bc they want that car more. That would prove they went the wrong way with the 488. I know I want this car more-a lot more

Marchionne said last year to Autocar that the Dino name and a V6 return was possible, but today at the Geneva motor show he said there had been "zero progress" since and it was "on the drawing board". He added: "We'll let you know when there's something to say."

Seems to me that if a lower priced Ferrari is brought to market with a full warranty and maintenance package. Would this place downward pressure on the value of used older Ferraris? The older Ferraris would be competing with a new Ferrari on price point.

Any more news on this? I agree that a V6 to support the F1 development makes sense. With FCA announcing that they are interested in selling Maserati and AR, what would the development team use the 6 for otherwise?

They build the 4c at the Maserati factory in Modena.

V6 Turbocharged. Very close to Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio engine

    Ciao

Edit: Rumors were it will be a sort of 4C with the Giulia Quadrifoglio engine they will sell at more than twice the 4C price with not much different production prices...

Looks like we might have a whole new round of "is a Dino a Ferrari?" arguments.
