They recently sold a yellow one in that price range. prices are climbing for sure.

 

Ooooo tech fabric BATA, don't see many with that option around. And it's a Rosso Scuderia, not Rosso Corsa

 

Most of the cheaper ones have some kind of negative, red interior etc, no stripe and/or high miles, any good spec with less than 12/13,000 Km in the $220k region seems to move well still but of course there are less and less of these examples

 

Great price on a 2008 , thought it would go for more if was a 2009 ,but that where the prices are heading

Prices for a black and silver seem about right. Those colors have been determined by the market as less desirable / valuable and have historically represented the bottom of the market.

 

That a really low price for both of thoses Scuds. with miles like that

these are nutty numbers. I would sell my 2009 RS wih 9300 miles in a heartbeat if I could get 279k

Wow! Black was an underpriced color, huh?

 

With red or yellow stripes and brake calipers with matched color it's very nice!

 

Finally... LOL The US has woken up to this whole 'red Ferrari's are more worth more' debate. I posted months ago that I've never seen this (owned three red cars now have a black Scud) and someone posted ahhh it must be a British thing.

It's one data point in an up market though. I happen to like the scud in black, and was hoping to find one because I could save a little on it vs a red one. This is not quite 2 years ago, in the US.

In general though, red being worth more is true and has been for quite some time in the US. The 308s, as an example, were often repainted red (even in period) because of that desire...hence the nickname "resale red".

But there are other rare colors that are valuable as well in certain models, etc. For instance, white scuds are pretty rare and command a premium. White seems to be popular these days. Thinking that, more or less, all colors are equally desirable isn't true of really any car to my knowledge.

Would definitely agree on the older V8 cars. 308 / 328 / ... have always been predominantly red. The market suggests that non red V8 Ferrari's became 'more' popular from the 360 onwards. Certainly here in the UK Red cars (if you speak to some) are deemed too flash and too stereotyped, as an enthusiast however I struggle with that view point. I do though feel modern Ferrari's with their chiseled looks and fresh design can look stunning in a range of non red colours.

 

Yah I can understand all those points. I think the new 488 looks best in yellow actually.

The one exception though IMHO is certain special models sometimes become incredibly popular in one color. One more basic example is the E92 M3 - they were overwhelmingly ordered in white because that was a great color for it and most of the marketing material around it was white also. Also raced in white...white is the color of German racing cars.

I think that is somewhat true with the Scud also - most of the press and test cars were red with stripes...so that becomes the image of the Scud to many fans/owners. Red is the racing color of Italy, Ferrari is known for racing, etc.

Anyway, not trying to beat a dead horse, but I think there is some variance in price based on color. However, as a car becomes more desired, the color will likely be a footnote vs a deal breaker.

 

So a low mileage 2009 scud now is about $260-270,000?

 

I agree with you on a lot of those points. Red for older models are a must be for me. I have an older red Ferrari. Would not want to have it in any other colour. However I kinda feel once you have a few Ferrari's you want something different, then when you try a different colour, its hard for me to go back to red........."everyone has a red Ferrari"...... Go to a Ferrari Event.....

Regarding values, sure, red is safe. However some colours are more expensive to some people. Im almost the perfect example. Im looking for a Yellow Speciale, black strips, 4 point harness. I have been looking for 6months and have not found one for sale that has not been in an accident. For me price is no discussion. I wish I bought one new. If you want a red one..... dim a dozen.

 

A black 2008 Scud. sold in long island for 269k , So a Red 2009 with low mile should be about 290k to 325k very soon, i havnt been wrong yet , supply and demand

 

I'm freaking out about Scud prices. Don't have enough money for a third F car yet. But want the Scud and prices keep rising.

That would be the logical thing to do! But I've become an addict. I can't part with a Ferrari. I'll sell other cars but F Cars are to stay. I would miss them too much. I have lots of storage so I can add more cars. Time to sell my rental property!
