I hear ya. They are hard to part with.
Yeah, that about sums it up for me. If I had the means, I'd be just like Leno in the car collecting department.
Any insight on this car Apologies ahead of time if it was already discussed and posted in here. Ferrari 430 Scuderia | eBay
Can tell you a few things I see: -Headlights and rear diffuser are not CF - must not have been specified when ordering -Rear diffuser modified for a tow hook, but tow hook not present -Missing cig lighter cover -Buttons on interior are super sticky and nasty - but that is not hard to correct -coolant reservoir cover is milky it looks like - or a bad pic...aftermarket replacements aren't too $$ -Would want to know clutch life, brake life remaining, tire age -As always I would get a full, independent PPI and find out as much as possible about the history - accidents, service issues, etc. Also looks like it was listed back in January, with ~10k miles, but didn't sell: 2008 Ferrari 430 F430 Scuderia *MI:9K*CARBON STEERING WHEEL W/ LEDs ...more pictures also. Notice the diffuser is not modified in January.
What do you think would be a good offer on the car? I have an idea, but I would like to see what others think.
Hard to say as I haven't been following it super closely recently so don't want to mislead you. Be careful who you listen to here...a lot of people are just trying to inflate prices because it makes them feel good about their possession. Like I said, I would want to know more about it first, but the buy it now doesn't seem out of line if everything checks out. It's probably worth 170k-200k in the current market I would guess. You might find out how they acquired it - consignment, auction, trade, etc. Will give you a better idea of their mental state and what they are expecting out of it.
They were offered 181 for it so far, we all know how that goes though. Put a hold deposit on it and having it checked out tomorrow.
The heat shields on both sides of the muffler seem to be installed upside down. Also I'm not sure if these stripes are original. But it does look good with those red calipers
New listing at CNC: 2009 Used Ferrari 430 Scuderia 2dr Coupe Scuderia at CNC Motors Inc. Serving Ontario, CA, IID 14439293 Someone buy this car before I get myself in serious financial trouble buying two Ferraris back to back
I was also looking at that car, main concern is that someone used it as a track toy the last 6 months and put 1k miles a month on it in 6 months.
Hi guys! I'm back to the forum after I sold my 612 and my be loved 360! Now I got one of my dream cars! I think it will make a great companion to my GT2. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Means it is well sorted assuming ppi is ok. The converse is that you have a low mileage car with a bunch of time bombs due to lack of use.
Congrats!! What a beauty. The more I look at Scuds the more I think they're one of the best looking cars Ferrari made since the 1960s.
Nice, let us know if you go check it out in person! Opinions vary on how much stress track use puts on the car. Some people say that it doesn't hurt a track-oriented car because that's what it was built for. Others say every 1 mile of track use is like X miles of road use (with varying opinions on what X is). Any Ferrari could have been used on track, so the track-oriented models are not the only ones that may have seen track time. While it's less likely that a spider was tracked it's not impossible. I tend to lean towards the opinion that if the car gets a clean PPI, drives flawless and looks flawless then it's probably not too dangerous to buy it.
