I will ask you again if you think (durind the course of the season) if the diference between Merc and Ferrari is bigger, smaller or even with the diference between Ferrari and williams?

Ferrari's pace was dependent on track temp. High track temp meant they excelled during the race because their tire could hold on longer.

This doesn't mean Ferrari was .3 or whatever slower throughout the season.

    Fantastic insight once again

The best qualy lap i ever saw was by Gilles (who else) in the 1981 monaco g.p.
Piquet made pole with a Brabham that everyone knwe was well below the weight limit, Gilles was second some 0,078 sec slower, Pironi in the same car (who led and almos won there the previous year) only managed 17, some 2,556 sec adrift. Gilles car was at least between 2 and 2,5 sec a lap slower than tha Brabhams and the Williams.....of course, no nedd to talk abou the 11 sec of watking Glenn over Jody!!!

Hard to say. Depends on the track but sometimes Williams were as good as Ferrari other times they were 10th at best. I haven't analysed it but would say simila r

IMO, and if we add all the races, in average i would say that the williams were a lot closer to Ferrari than the Ferraris were to the Merc. You said no way Kimi would have won the title in the Merc, so please explain how was he able to beat both williams?

    1. Bottas and massa are no way as good as nico and Lewis. If we assume that Lewis and alonso are on the same level (fair assumption). Then we look at what alonso did to massa points wise. The difference in cars is big but huge difference in driver too. You are discounting who is driving and assuming kimi is in the merc and no one quick is in the Ferrari

    2. Looking at it in tenths per lap slower is silly. Ferrari could be 5 tenths behind merc and be guaranteed third on the grid. Williams could be 5 tenths below Ferrari and qualify tenth. That's a huge impediment to the race and to picking up points because you need to get past everyone

There's just no way kimi would win. His merc team mate would beat him even if it was a midfield driver. And if they didn't, a Vettel alonso or Hamilton in the Ferrari would. Sure put someone slow on the other merc and in both ferraris and kimi can win. But that's just beyond the realm of fantasy if you put slow drivers in all the best cars. Put me in the merc and a bunch of 8 year olds in the other cars and I'll win the wdc

Wow what a ridiculous statement from Toil. That really is something. Such blind hatred. On the verge of trolling, considering how many times he brings it up....

Exactly. In Brazil nico was .6 sec in q3 over Seb. Theoretically Seb should have been 42 seconds adrift of Nico but he was 14. Nico controlled hammy; everyone else fighting for crumbs off the MB table. Ferrari much work to do.
