Does anyone know a good company to register cars in LA and all other DMV services?
You do have to be a AAA member, but much better than going to DMV office Only catch is if you are registering a car you bought from an OUT-of-state DEALER - every time I have had one, they say sorry can't do, and send me off to DMV Some will tell you differently, but over the past 5 years that has happened to all 3 cars I have had from out-of-state dealers.
I have used a place called Vehicle Registration Services in West Los Angeles.. 12331 1/2 Washington Blvd 310 390-3944 They know some interesting tricks too...
AAA or DMV appointment has always worked for me. Frankly the AAA office near me, being very busy, actually takes longer than a appt. @ DMV.....
Out of state purchased cars have to be smogged (doesn't matter if they are brand new) and then brought physically to the DMV for VIN inspection. Have had to do this a dozen times.
Wow that's nice. Wish I would have known about her! I'm moving to FL now and could use somebody like that in Miami so I don't have to deal with the DMV. Will try to research that later.
Note that if it is out-of-state from a private party then AAA can do it - only problem is a car from out-of-state DEALER... then it is DMV office In my area, getting an appointment with DMV is a month or more into the future = not a "good" option
I have a great company that has done DMV for many clients and friends. PM me for the info if you still need it.
Here is a weird twist, I too have had this happen at AAA with the out of state cars. But just late last year and then in March of this year I was able to register a car from Nevada and one from Florida. Florida does something pretty cool, when you are out of state, they issue a Florida Title with you name and out of state address on it. It makes it pretty clean. If I was smart I should have established a Florida residence and beat the California Sales Taxes.
AAA near South Coast Plaza is where I registered / smogged my out of state private party. No trip to DMV for VIN inspection.. FWIW
