Not talking about the optional power height adjustable one, I am referring to the standard suspension.

I see they have coilovers, I assume they can be adjusted?

If not, what is the alternative, aftermarket adjustable coilovers? If so, who makes a set for the F40, Moton?

Can anybody recommend a contact person on this?

Thought there were some F40 owners in here who may have known...

    Thanks,

the chassis has a couple different bolt on levels for the body - i think. so mine is lowered, but it was done just by attaching the body to the lower attachment points .

Really? I never heard that. I could see how the front and back clips could maybe do this, but if you lower the middle/rocker portion you would have to bring the doors, roof, etc down with it? Also effecting the interior and many other parts...

You sure it wasn't lowered via the suspension some how?

this question is beyond my paygrade. my answer was a repeat of a conversation i had with bob houghton years ago, so the accuracy is not guaranteed. hopefully you will get a response from somebody like rifledriver in a bit.

Much as I know these cars, having owned them and specialize in them, I have zero experience with adjusting the suspension of a non-adjustable Ferrari F40.

Standard Koni shocks don't look adjustable to me.

Several aftermarket shocks are available, moton, penske, ohlins, quantum, and more. I'd have a serious hard time choosing between Penske, Ohlins and Quantum...the latter not very well known but absolutely fantastic bit of kit.

That is what I thought. Even though they are coilovers, they oddy enough seem to be non adjustable ones.

As for your aftermarket suggestions for the F40, are they all height adjustable?

The stock shocks have no adjustability. As I recall both the 288 and the F40 had optional attachment points for the control arms to achieve that. We were told during school that was for homologation purposes but we never really believed that. Ferrari frowned on modifications and often said things like that to discourage us.

Frankly for any F40 with any possibility for street use I can't imagine lowering it but I have some history with owning low street cars and just consider it too much trouble anymore for the small benefits.

If a better lowering method/suspension adjustability is desired I'd get in touch with Rob at Delta Vee. He is a suspension specialist and is very dialed in on F40's.

He's also a very good guy to do business with.

Thanks for the response. So the information in post #3 is technically incorrect, the body isn't adjustable, just the control arms in the suspension? Pretty sure that must be what he is referring to, correct?

Oh I see, he meant there is different bolt on points for the control arms, not the "body", correct?

    Thanks for the help.

You can try to contact Carobu, they have a modification for the Konis to make them hight adjustable!

I´m thinking about changing to the Intrax System, if my Shock Absorbers need to be replaced. They are completely adjustable.
