+1 Display is very important not only the way it looks, but also the fact it keeps dust out and keeps the collection safe
wow the 375 and Lusso, wow. I was waiting for you to post some photos and even better than imagined. I might have to be rude and ask for a few more pics!
I will make some better pictures when the weather cleares up around here, bright daylight is the only way (for me) to get the best posiible pictures for an amateur photographer like me.. Hns
That is great news, also not sure if you have seen this on the 250 GTE but its a great short video I think you will enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RUTjFlI_MI
.. There are a few I have that are special.... this one is extra special! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
One of my very best, the kit is extremely rare and made around 1988 by make up. A true holy grail in 1:43. Went to london to pick it up in person, couldn't risk mailing it. Seller/friend has an unbelievable collection of supermodels
It was made between 1990-92. I had one in kit form years ago before I changed over to 1/24th scale along with a few 1/43rd and 1/12th scale models. It was just under $1400.00 for the kit when new with it's special box. The yen has come way down since then. This and the 250 GTO have to be some of the best kits ever made in 1/43rd. I think better than Bosica.
Yen came down but these are so rare that doesn't bother me at all... The kit was revolutionary when it was made the body is extremely thin. The 250 gto by barnett will be my next later in the year, there are 6 to choose from.... These models don't come cheap but are soooooooo much better than a bbr... Think i will be selling a few more older bbr's. I used to have around 300 handbuilts ( collected for allmost 30 years). I realised that bringing the number down, and concentrating on only the best is a sensible choice. Less is more.. Allthough moneywise its the same
Agree, on a completly diferent level (price and quality wise) i started to do the same with my collection.....i will keep doing ferrari f1 in 1/43 scale (now that Mattel as ended with Ferrari i will satart buying from Looksmart wich will be a good improvement (although a lot more expensive) i i will start selling some road cars 1/18 and also my 1/43 art models, best and bangs in order to buy bbr or looksmart sporstcars wich is really my new focus in 1/18......even inside the Ferrari theme, one has to choose one or 2 themes , otherwise you cannot control the nº of cars nor how much you spend, and the hobby is getting very expensive...
Hans, That 250 LM is a real beauty! Congrats on your purchase! I completely agree with you about less being more. Many years ago (mid 1990s) I sold off the bulk of my collection (500 or so models), which at that time was mostly 1:43 scale hand builts. There were a few I wish I had kept, but I was trying to make a major change in the direction of my collecting to concentrate on only what really strongly appealed to me rather than every new AMR, BBR, Marsh, Ma Collection, Heco, etc, etc. Now it is more of an assortment of scales ranging from tiny 1:87 up to 1:10, and also various brands of cars. With that said, I also only buy what I really like ranging in price from cheap to extremely high. And I display all of my collection - nothing stored away. Enjoy your collection, it is great, and is one of the better ones I've seen!
Thank you Marshall, my collection is a never ending work in progress, there are allways new (and old) exciting models to be found or built! Its amazing what can be made with talent (I don't have ;-) ) Hans
Marshall, maybe one of this days you could post some of your models, i'm sure you have some amazing stuff!!
Hans, there is a shop here in Braga, that has very rare models, i used to see there a lot of 1/14 Brianzas, and also some big scale AMR, i remenber a 512bb lm, open that was just amazing, i think you would really feel at home there.
Well.... yes I guess I could post some photos of some of my collection, but I don't have too many Ferrari's. Is everyone open to seeing some other marques?
Pedro, is the shop still in business? The hobby changed a lot over the last decade. Most shops closed. Always a treat to visit a modelshop with interesting models. ;-)
Yes Hans, i haven't been there for some time but i can go there one of this days and if you look for something speciaal i can look it out for you...they realy had some amazing models last time i was there. The owner is a personal friend of both the reali brothers, and he sells mostly bbr, but had many Mg models 1/12 built, and many rare models, i remenmber a couple of f40s in 1/8 scale as well..i'll post a link below to the shop, but i believe this bigger things don't show up there, i know that some times they come from private collections. Mimo2
some nice AMR's there.. If you happen to go, please let me know...there are a few I like, but the pics are to small to see the quality
