    Hi Bart,

To me that's the most anticipated restoration of all. When I saw pictures of it in Rob's book and learned it was still in the country, I wass hoping to see it at a meeting one day. How's the V12 'fitting' coming along? :)

    Best, Peter

Could I please suggest anyone interested in this subject that they acquire the quite magnificent book titled 'Weekend Heroes'...what a book...I referred back to my copy today and I was still astounded with the quality, the obscurity, the rarity and magnificence of this book that is often overlooked as it is not a strictly nor solely Ferrari title.

    Hi, Marcel.
What happened to the car? What did Brocket do to it?

Please use search function or Google.
His lordship butchered several of his own cars, or had them butchered by one of his employees, put remnants in a nearby lake and in oil drums, then claimed theft and insurance case. Cars or remnants thereof recovered years later, the good lord went to jail for a few years (insurance scam). From memory that was in April 1991. 0138 AM was one of the cars which had been cut in pieces (other Ferraris involved in the insurance fraud were 0123 S and 0421 GT). DK Engineering bought the remnants of 0138 AM and rebuilt 0138 AM with a fantasy spider body.
I think Brocket, now released from jail, has even authored his memoirs........

I remember riding in the passenger seat alongside MW on the Nürburgring in 0196A. Easily the most exhilarating car experience I have had to date! I couldn't believe we were going sideways in some corners. The car is very fast and sounds absolutely amazing.

He actually let me drive the tucked-away RS on a sunny sunday afternoon. God bless him. It is one of only 8 (I think) that were originally delivered WITHOUT the ducktail. What a car.

Another one showing the very leather straps that were on the car already at Le Mans 1951.
Grill surround not to proper shape yet.

    Marcel,

I assume that this was to run the Daytona Speed Trials on the beach. Any other notable Ferrari, didn't Jim Kimberly also compete? Thanks.

Regarding 0196A - where is the beautiful berlinetta body that was on it when I drove it in the 1980s here in Canada?

I can't find any proof that Jim Kimberly was also there in 1954.

Yes, it was. Another photo of 0120A taken at the same event. The kids are Guido and Mario Levetto (copyright Mario Levetto).

In 1955 with 0384AM. Other Ferraris in '55 included Jack Rutherfurd again (but driving William Spear's 0382AM this time), John Shakespeare in 0376AM, and Bob Said in 0494M.
