I purchased a used set of fabspeed headers, but I noticed there wasn't any gaskets or heat shields. Can I use the gaskets from my original headers or do they make replacements.

Fabspeed sells header blankets or you can make your own.

Ceramic coating them is another option to keep the engine bay cool. I had mine coated in white which looked great and seemed to insulate quite well. I think the process cost somewhere around $600 for both sides.

if you bought used set and did not come with the shield plates for AC/ Alt then it was problem from long ago before they made the plates.

I just bought a new set and now they come fully complete with heat plates, gaskets and nuts.

where did you find used set?

Bought the set about 2 yrs ago from a fellow fchat member along with high flow cats and capristo 3. Getting major done this winter and will have these changed at that time.

oh ya I saw that set for sale in classifieds I guess it was you who got them.

you can buy the gaskets, nuts and heat plates seperately from Fabspeed.

my engine is out right now too.
    headers should arrive any day.

I'm going against the grain and wil have them installed straight out of the box.
I spoke with couple people who did the same with no heat issues whatsoever.
as long as the AC/alt shields are on should be fine. plus I have challenge grill to vacuum out the heat.

Probably going to have the headers coated at swain tech and I will call fabspeed tomorrow for the gaskets and bolts.

even if you coat them I would still buy the AC/Alt heat shield plates.

+1 on buying the bits from Fabspeed. Even with ceramic coating, the engine bay will not exactly "stay cool". You want every passive heat shield you can get to keep sensitive parts away from heat.
