Nice to see that I wasn't the only one thinking that. As much as Phil talks down the values of 348s I've become convinced that he must be stockpiling as many as he can get.

As to the whole "unloved Ferrari" theme he keeps pitching, history is rife with examples of so-called unloved cars finally getting their due-- the 308 GT4 and 365 GTB/4 are a couple of recent examples.

Not that I buy into that theme anyway-- as much I like the 355, I much prefer the 348. I considered a 355 briefly when shopping for my car, but quickly decided that the 348 offers more of what I want in a car. More and more people are coming to realize what we already know... in spite of Phil's frequent bashing of the model.

I just can't think why Phil is so down on 348 values when he says what great cars they are. A few years ago, we would all have laughed at 355's, 328's etc selling for north of £100,000, but the best lowest mileage cars DO sell at that level.

The edge has gone off the market - it always does at this time of year. However, a couple of RHD cars have sold recently - The Ferrari Centre had five on their books recently - they are now down to two with the Spider just gone under offer at £89,995 - so three have sold. Carbitrage have recently sold their 10K miles 348 POA - but it was originally advertised at an outrageous sum - now sold however and it won't have been cheap.

It's only 12 years or so since I turned down the chance of buying a friend's Dino for £30,000. After all my 348 was a much better drivers car and in much better condition - still is but the Dino is now a £300,000 car.

So will the 348 be a £100K car? Of course it will and I recon by next spring if not sooner. There is a 27k mile Spider at VIP Cars on at £99,500 - now isn't that really £100,000!!!!!!! Now the Ferrari Centre car has gone, the VIP car will be next.

People are now seeing the 348 as I do - a real drivers car - stick on a decat Tubi and its the best value Ferrari fun around - not for much longer though.....In a few years, we'll be jesting at a 348 being a £200,000 car - just mark my words Phil.

Just a bit more info that Phil might be in - Autoscout24 (Europe) are listing a very early 1500 mile LHD 348 at £127,000. There's a Konig F48 conversion at £362,000 and a 348 Zagtato at £250,000!!!!!!!!!! There are quite a few LHD 348's with lowish miles for around the £90,000 mark. These 348's are still on the way up and there's no way these values are going down the tubes like Phil recons.

Crazier things have happened in the past I am sure. :)

I don't know the UK market, but they might be coming close to selling for those prices now mate and they may top £100,000 before we know it. Time will tell of course.

    Why thank you.

Yes, I have noticed that. Creme with red floor carpets is the #1 choice for ALL Ferrari owners in the UK. From a 308 to a new 458. lol :p

You guessed it, kinda need some tint around these parts are outside temps and sun can be extreme throughout the year.

But I am very fortunate as Bikz has suggested, can have this tint removed very quickly if required.

It is 5% tint, highly illegal here Oz also but I haven't been asked to remove it yet so it will stay until the Cops pull me over and make me do it. :)

Yes, but £100K will have me thinking VERY hard about it. ;)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I needed a good laugh this evening. :)

Wait another year and It'll be £300,000. Yours is a keeper so stop worrying whats its worth.

And in the UK it would have to be! - The UK Police take great satisfaction in tearing them off at the road side prior to handing the driver a Fine for driving a car in an "un-roadworthy condition on the public highway".

(BTW: I am more than conversant in the application of automotive window tint film - Along with the UK Laws that are applicable to it's use! ;) )

PAP 348: I'm glad you're not taking as much offence at some of my thoughts as others seem to be!

("Just don't go blowin' your tinnie all over the screen and keyboard with laughter mate! - It'll be a bugger to clean off!" ;) ).

Based on what some on here think, you'd better hold tight on selling at £100K - Apparently 348's are going to hit £200K soon!

As I seem to be upsetting so many 348 owners in this thread (some who seem to think I have an influence on the 348 market in the same manner that LDM or even Jeremy Clarkson would have! ), I'll not bother posting in it any more and simply let time show us just who was right and who was wrong.

I genuinely hope I'm wrong and the others are right (especially the £200K prediction!), but I've watched the Ferrari market for far too many years to buy into the: "348 prices are going to keep going up and up and never come down again!" mentality.

Sooner or later, this latest classic car boom time is going to end and some people will lose loads of money!

    Time will tell!

As long as the liquidity and steady rises in UK property prices continue, the classic car market will shadow it. Property data shows a housing stock shortage until 2021, and after that who knows...

Cheers mate, I am only enjoying some banter here with you guys. :)

I don't care about the value of my car as I have no intention of selling it.

It's all very interesting though, some people really get caught up in the value thing.

I am only interested in the value of all my investment properties and I have no intention of selling them either.

And if I sold my 348 I wouldn't be able to replace it with any other old Ferrari that I like, so she's a keeper. :)

    Cheers buddy, much appreciated.

They do us over here too mate, I have just been lucky. If I drove the car daily I am sure they would have seen the 5% tint by now and I would have taken it off.

It doesn't bother me taking it off, I will just replace it with the legal 35% tint.

    Truely amazing!

It's all good mate. You are just sharing your thoughts and I respect that. :)

These cars are not as bad as you keep saying they are. Once they are sorted they are really solid cars and many long term owners really enjoy them.

My car was well sorted when I got it and have done very minor repairs to it over the last 10 years.

A clutch and a/c compressor replacement were the biggest issues and they are wear and tear items IMO.

I am not sure these cars will ever hit £200K, but we might see them around and over the £100K mark in the near future.

And the only thing I can think of as to why they are going up in value is because everything else around it is.

The reasoning I was told as to why the 308s went up in value was because there was "a big price difference between the 246 and the 308".

What kind of crazy talk is that? I don't know!

I love the 308, but I am not going to pay $200K more for one now because owners one day realised their car should be worth closer to what a 246 is worth. Crazy!!

Same deal with the 328. Hell, if the 308 is worth this much, my 328 is worth the same.

The only Ferrari that is left that is still cheap to buy is the 348. New Ferrari owners are now seeing this and they are starting to jump on them also which will now be starting to drive prices up.

GT4, 308s, 328s and 355s are all too expensive to buy now, so it's time to buy a cheap 348 to get into Ferrari ownership.

This is just my thoughts on it all. I don't follow any 348 markets as I said I don't have any interest in selling my car.

But I think I am on the right track in saying these are still the cheapest oldest Ferraris to get into (with the exception of some Mondials) so people are starting to buy them.

Prices for all Ferraris will go up and will eventually come down. They will settle for more than what they were worth before, but prices will definitely come down for most of the Ferrari models we see for sale today.

And don't stress man, it's all in good fun. Hope you stick around and enjoy this section like we all do.

I don't think you can do anymore damage than what LDM has done for the 348. ;)

PAP - great banter on this thread - I don't really care about the value - mines not going anywhere either.

Phil - don't take it to heart - we all value reading what you have to say but you don't have to talk down a car you love. All cars have faults, especially those over 20 years old.

I've had my car over 12 years from when it only had 8,000 miles on it and now at 45,000 miles. I've tracked it, hillclimbed it, and driven it really hard all over Europe only to put it into the National FOC Concours. The harder I drive it the better it goes. I've no doubt about running it way into the future.... Just drive it like you stole it...........The best drivers Ferrari this side of an F40!!!!??????

I've been a Ferrari owner for less than a week, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I'm not the least bit concerned about the car's value. At least not until I'm too old and frail to drive it. Here's hoping that's many, many years distant.

I love my car. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it in person. Up until that moment, I wasn't completely sold on the Grigio. But pictures just don't do it justice. The second I saw it sitting in the parking lot, I knew I'd be driving it home.

I've no intention of letting it go. Value schmalue. ;)

Cheers mate, appreciate the kind words. :)

Your car looks amazing man! Thanks for the pics. :)

I love the original black lower painted section. Mine was painted before I got it, but when I repaint the old girl one day I might return it back to original and have that black section.

It suits the car perfectly IMO.

I haven't been in an F40 yet, but you might be on the money I think. ;)

    Yeah..........but nobody wants those.

That's it mate. I will keep my car until I can't no longer drive it.

Hopefully another 40+ more years into my 70's I will still be able body to drive it.

I am inclined to agree with you. I still like Rosso Corsa and Nero, but the Grigio won me over after seeing it in person.
