    No.

Not even for a speciale (which I love). Cs touches me on an emotional level. Speciale is very, very, very fast and almost certainly the better car, but sometimes that's just not enough.

I can see that someone might be more turned on by the updated car. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

Same here. I remember when the 458 first came out, F of SF wanted to give me 135 for my CS towards a 458 with 280k MSRP. I wanted something special and decided to keep it. Now look at the prices. Closest thing to CS for me is a Scud.

From a pure business and investment standpoint. The CS will be somewhat of a collector and a classic - the 458 will not.

But here's the thing. If the OP can get a good deal, which is NOT a straight trade, what's important?

If for some reason, he only drives and enjoys the CS 5-10 times a year, putting between 400-700 miles on it, can it then be argued that a car that is easier to live with like the 458, he might put 1500-3000 miles a year on, is better personal and emotional value? I'm not saying this is the case, just that it might be a thing to consider, if it is.

In other words. If your CS sits in the garage way too much and that annoys you, but a 458 will be used often and give you a lot of joy, what's more valuable? More than money is involved in this decision.

More joy from a 458 than a CS? Hmmm....not. But, to each his own :) I'd venture a guess that we'd be having a different discussion if this were posted in the 458/488 section.

Faced the same quandary back in 2010. Made the move to keep the CS and get the 458 as an addition. Now on my third 458 but the CS is still there :)

Yes, it's special. Definitely stirs the soul and keeps your attention. The rise in value is just a bonus.

Not unless it's that red salvaged CS, On ebay.

How bout CS for scud, or scud for 458, or CS for 3-pedal f430?

there's a moment when you get in a 458 and you think "this is nice....", but then reality sets in, so the answer is "no".

Owned a 458 and sold it for a scud. Couldn't be happier with my decision. I would keep the CS if I were you. Cars like that will never be made again.

If the OP wants to do this, it would make sense to wait a few years. The 458 will continue to depreciate while the CS will likely climb in value over that time. Doesn't make sense to swap from an appreciating asset to a depreciating one.

Why 3 different 458s in that time? Just curious...

Good move on keeping the CS ; )

Not saying more joy is to be had in a 458. All I'm saying is that they are different cars ticking different boxes. It depends on what's most important to the owner. I would not swap a CS for my Spider if I had a CS to swap - I think the CS and 355 are two of the most brilliant cars to ever come out of Maranello, despite how much we like our 458. I think you'll find most people in the 458 section agrees about the CS. The CS is a very unique car, but it is not as daily driver friendly as an Italia. If it's important to be able to drive the car 500 care free miles a week, then the 458 might be a better choice for some, rather than a car annoying its owner because he can't drive it as much as he'd like. Nothing more, just thinking in broader terms.
And please don't take this as I'm knocking the CS for its reliability, they are just different cars from different eras.

    put it this way:

    I recently had a car meet with a 458, a 458 speciale, a few tuned GTR, 997GT3RS, etc.
Total about a dozen cars. In my region poeple don't really know what a CS is. They didn't even talk to me that much before the drive began. Everything seems to be centered on the Speciale.

UNTIL we started the drive and ran through the tunnels. When we gathered again, Almost everybody came to me and asked, what year is the car? any mods? I didn't even know what to say other than stating the facts that its all stock and its a 2004.

A 16M perhaps but those are extremely rare over here and I doubt any 16M owner would wanna trade with a mint cs either.......so i guess I'm "stuck" with it for life.....

Ngpa bang tiga biji dlm 5 tahun ??? Just curious......😉

I would, but that's because Ive never driven either, and frankly, economics aside, Im not sure I really understand the hype of a CS....just seems like a factory mildly modded 360 to me. no offense to anyone.

I understand your thinking but that's how the market of the limited production collector cars work. For example, 1973 carrera RS modded over the 911S. Current market value is 3x for the RS.
