Yep, that is correct. Going to have my TPiS/AFR heads cleaned up and transferred over to a shortblock I picked up. Have to decide on cam & computer still and what to do with the trans. Running a manual valvebody 700R4 but thinking about a TCI 6X trans- 6 speed paddle shift. lol... no F-car influence there!!!
AFRHeads are the best. They have the best core accuracy of any of the suppliers. For the cam I would reach out to Dave Storlien for advice. One of the best builders in the country and in the twin cities.
Do you have any contact info? I had TPiS (tuned port induction specialties) in Chaska, MN clean the heads up and holy smokes they were almost too bad arse looking to put on the car and did it come alive! That same shop did engine work for Billy Gibbons' Frankenstude.
The ice racing looks to be a rush. I am waiting on parts and the holidays aren't helping things ship faster. I have also had a couple of interested parties on the Porsche so hopefully it will be a fast turn around.
Here's an old youtube from Pete Harken out in WI along with a drone pic of us off-loading our trailers on the ice at Plattsburgh, NY at the Eastern International Skeeter Association Regatta: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XydjXEbK-c Image Unavailable, Please Login
That would be cool! Just checked out the Veloce go kart track in Waukesha the other day. Very similar to K1. They had the "super track" set up so instead of two tracks it was one large one. A tad too many hairpins for my taste but a good time anyway
Fixing a few leaks on a client's 400i. Then I'll be starting on a project that will probably last till Spring. Stay tuned.
Well, bad weather has kept the Vantage in my garage, couldn't get out to the shop to have the clutch and headers done yet. So I think possibly this weekend I will add a Dension Gateway 500 to the Vantage audio system for iPod integration and a line-level input for my the satellite radio receiver. Should be fun to take apart the dashboard and fiber optic system for the stereo. Hopefully I can get my garage heated up to an acceptable temperature.
Building a 550 Spyder replica when I can get out to the garage. I want to maybe paint it when I'm ready but not sure yet. I can envision Mercedes silver metallic sagging over all of those curves that I prepared. I have my two "helpers" working with me. I need to finish my shift linkage and get some dual Webers and manifolds. Image Unavailable, Please Login
And now for an unplanned project to add to my list.... Stumbled onto a guy who gave up on a project so now I'll be taking his CTS-V 6 piston brakes off his hands. With that, I'll have to go from my 17" to at least 18" wheels now.
Brakes are in and wheels will be here early next week! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does the remote replace the brake pedal? FF to go faster, REW to slow down? LOL I put Stoptech 6-piston front and 4-piston rear on my BMW and holy cow, what a difference it makes at the track. Cut my lap times more than adding 50hp!
lol if that remote were the pads I'd be in deep stuff Jeff with them probably not working properly half the time! Yeah, RA's going to really be even more fun now. And today the wheel arrived! I decided on the Falken RT615s. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
