Intake crest needs to be refinished. Manifold paint is fine.
Can this be removed from the top side, (with out removal of intake)?

    Thanks,

I believe it's part of the cast aluminium intake manifold (plenum chambers) not a separate item. So no.

Redduke is correct, the plenum needs removing and sending away for refinishing. Some people do DIY repaint jobs but I'd get it professionally done.

Mine is doing the same thing. I fixed it by telling people not to look in there. Happens to cars that have been ran hard and gotten very hot.

Cautionary tale: mine looked fine till I was drying the engine compartment with my master blaster MC dryer. :)
