Well really purchased two+ weeks ago, but getting a car transported from the West Coast to Dallas to Austin during the holidays is not an easy task, as I found out the painful way. Delay, delay, delay…any who, it’s HERE finally!

2014 with 2600 miles. I’ve been looking for about 6 months and patiently waiting for the right ‘deal’. I will say buying at the end of the year was a very wise option and worth the wait!

Albeit not as ‘cool’ to some as 488 or Speciale, it’s still ‘damn cool’ in my book.

Every one of my cars in the past 20 years has been black—just love them. Was VERY tempting to change that for the Ferrari, but why change a good thing. Love the lines of 458 in black.

Anyways, glad to have her in the stable and look forward to some spirited driving in the Texas Hill Country.

    Cheers

Thank you guys...appreciate the kind words. Drove it pretty much all day in this beautiful weather.

It's such a different beast than my former Huracan. I hate the informant system, but the engine, the shifts, the control, the steering, etc, etc are all SO much better.

It makes me feel like driving my GT3, where as Huracan was like DD. It was fast as all get out, and yes Huracan has some wicked sound, but this 458...sooooooo sweet in so many ways.

    Very happy.

    Will do and agree!

    Thank you.

Absolutely will post a honest comparison having owned both. I will say the shifts on the 458 are like no other. Instant and smooth. More after I've had a few weeks behind wheel. So far 458 is amazing.

I too have the Huracan along with 458 spider. You're correct about the Huracan...it's too smooth even in corsa mode. The 458 is stiffer (you should run it in race mode) and feels so much better. Great looking car. Enjoy!

Any Ferrari is awesome! Not many people are in our exclusive club. Welcome! Great car! I also thought about getting black but ended up with red Spider.

Congrats. The 458 is awesome. Been thinking about a huracan myself lately. So you prefer the 458?

    Thank you both.

Only had one full day with 458, so can't give full comparison yet. Pro's and con's to each as of right now. I will say the 458 makes me for more 'engaged' with the car so far. Both easy to drive, however the 458 just gives me a more visceral feel.

Give me a few weeks to draw some conclusions.

458 is just so...well...Ferrari. And that's a very good thing.

Please leave the bicolor "diamond cut" wheels untouched. They are perfect!

The only other option would be grigio corsa.

But don't go black and don't go bright silver. Just in the middle - as diamond cut and grigio corsa - is perfect.

BTW: like the red calipers a lot. So many went with yellow on black 458s. Red is the classic supercar look. Can't go wrong with that !!!

Thanks--as you say--once you go black...

    Cheers!
