Recaro PP fits nicely. I have also used Recaro SPG that fit as well.

    Question
Do only spiders have electric seats ?
I have tried to find options for replacement of my electric spider seats, but with all the electronics connected to the convertible top is this even an option ?

Search recaro pole position, you'll come up with some suggestions.

Many seats will fit. The primary question should be, which seat fits YOU best? Nothing will ruin a driving experience or comfort more than an ill-fitting race shell. Get your butt in them, ask for a test-sit at driving events, or if a race shop has a floor display for testing (up in the MA area, our local shop HMS Motorsport has a grandstand setup with a large selection of race seat makes and models to find the correct fitment).

I have custom brackets built without sliders. I figure I'm so tall and do not want anyone to drive my car anyways. The seat is as far back as possible. Same for the passenger seat. It's a bit lower than stock thanks to the custom brackets.
Attached is a pic of the seats side by side.
It was a great improvement. I had cf seats in my previous 355 which I loved but these are much nicer in every way.
    I would never go back.
    Purist, don't hate please.

Any pictures of the PP's installed? It's been my plan all along to get them but would love to see a picture of them installed in a 355/348.

I never installed pp's. I installed recaro spg xl. I've seen pics of pp's. I'll dig up some pics and post it for you. Pp's did look good, my spg's were from another car and were red. It was a bit too much with tan interior.

Has anyone tried mounting side mount brackets to the factory seat rails and base?

Spider seats have electric motors, controlled by top position ECU, as well as integrated seat belts. If you put a race seat in there, you have to find a way to attach racing harness (probably possible) and fake out the electronics some how. Frankly, I would leave it alone. It's complicated enough without being made more complicated.
