Respectfully - because you are asking the seller to negotiate against himself.

Give him your best offer and maybe he'll take it or there's some common ground, or not.

    Best

I rather not low ball. I asked he said $1249. I respect that.
He could have sent me a pm if he was willing to negotiate.
Not everyone is willing to negotiate.
If I'm not willing to pay $1249 why bother him at this point??
I will however give him a free bump and wish him glws.

Especially in original finish. So many wheels have been "professionally" redone but 99% of the time it was done by a guy with a paint sprayer in a trailer. Very few of these are left in original condition. This is a great price for this set. GLWS

Seriously why the F do people think they need to get on here and and tell sellers how to sell and buyers how to buy???

I thought that's why they put in the new classifieds posting rules. It's not your deal, your not involved. It's between the buyer and seller. If they seller doesn't like the way the buyer is coming to them then they will deal with it or ignore them.

These wheels have been for sale FOR A YEAR. Madturk simply asked what is the real # he would take for them. Not every deal is done by "horse trading" sometimes either the buyer or seller or both just want a no nonsense deal. Which after a year of not selling at the asking price I'm sure madturk assumed the seller might be more inclined to give his best # and he could just say yes or no. Millions of deals get done like this every day and it works.

Why don't we just leave the workings of the deals to the people truly involved? Did any of these comments do anything to help the sale of this item?

You can mark my words that 360 starfish rims will never be worth much at all, and with all the talk of how much factory 355 wheels are worth it begs the question how was there just a set of very nice ones with tires on EBay for a starting bid of $1800 and they received ...wait for it ...0 bids? There may be people out there asking 3-4-5 thousand for them but is that what hey are worth if no one is actually buying them?

    not worth much at all?
Ok, well my not much is $1250.

I think it's a fair price and when someone wants a second set for the track or if they rash one, or two…all I can say is they ain't making any more and looking at the numbers of 360's out there, that number is falling, not dramatically, but 360's are in limited supply, not urgently so of course, but look at what it would have cost to go to your dealer and get another set…$1250 is very reasonable.

Holding them for a year? Happily. I'll hold them for 5 years… someone will need them. And my suspicion is that when this happens...they will be happy to get them.
    Cheers.

In the last 3 months I have bought a nice set of starfish rims for $500 with tires. I then sold them for $900 without the 2007 date code tires, they were one of three sets I sold in that time frame all for under $1000.

360 owners seemed to be very inclined to put aftermarket rims on their cars and thousands of sets of these were removed from cars while in nice shape. Plus there are better OEM options for the 360 in the 3 piece modular and the challenge style rim. All of that stacks up against the starfish ever being hard to find or people's first choise as an OEM option. Therefore no real value in them when compared to OEM options for earlier cars or for the other OEM options for the 360. I am saying they will be cheap in relation to those, but not putting a future $ amount on them. You will one day probably get the $1250 for them. Inflation is on your side. But I doubt it will happen any times soon, but good luck with the sale.
