Which country has the most Ferraris???

UK? normally get around +/- 10% of total, would put them around 4th?

 

Ironically the English SMMT website does not publish Ferrari Registrations.

The only data I have to date is:-

January - August 2015 - 415.

i happened to have had a conversation about this with the geneva dealer when i went in to see him just before christmas, and he told me that 2015 was not a good year for ferrari.

he said france had taken about 200 cars, and all of the chinese section (china, taiwan, singapore, hk) had only taken about 750, when the plan was more like 2200. so a big fail.
the usa took about 2200. italian sales were about 20 - dismal because of the tax issues.

he declined to give me the number for switzerland, but said it was on par with normal....

Except a lot of those Swiss registrations are from non-Swiss buyers.

For instance quite a number of Ferrari's sold in the Netherlands are registered on (sometimes temporary) German, Belgium and Swiss plates (registered on a foreign ltd/subsiduary) to avoid the high car taxes.

And my guess is that's exactly why Denmark and Norway have very limited registrations. Denmark has the highest car taxes in Europe.

 

not so easy to register a car in switzerland if you are not a resident or a citizen, and then when you do, the tax and insurance are very high - so high that i registered cars under my uk address to save money. so, i doubt too many non-residents are using switzerland as cover. swiss ownership numbers are massive. it is great when you go into that market and want to buy a ferrari - cheapest ferraris i found (except for the f40), but on the way out you have a hard time finding a buyer at a decent price. by the way, i have a wonderful 456mgt for sale in geneva if anybody is interested

The Italian registrations of 249 are correct, as per audited data from UNRAE.IT.

Worldwide Ferrari registrations for 2015 will exceed 2014, when final figures are published in March 2016.

Not criticising the datas, of course, which are nice to look at, but I must say I am slightly surprised by the absence of Brasil, for instance: surely such a dynamic economy with about 200 millions inhabitants can "absorb" a couple of new Ferraris, no? Or are these accounted otherwise?
Czech Republic has 60, which is a lot for a small country; Russia hasn't got even one?

Unfortunately the official Brazilian site 'anfavea.com.br ' does not publish Ferrari registrations.

The only data I have to date is:-

January - August 2015 - 57.


The official 'Association of European Businesses' site, which publishes the monthly Russian data, has zero Ferrari registrations listed for 2015.

There are not many Ferraris in Brazil. Roads are bad, safety is an issue, not to mention they are wildly expensive (I'm talking way above expected).

I see more and more of them, but that's because I live 5 minutes away from the dealership by foot, in a nice area of São Paulo. Still, not nearly enough to make any top 10 list. Not yet, and probably not ever.

According to this one http://conexaoautomotiva.blogspot.com.br/2015/07/via-italia-representante-da-ferrari.html, last year, which was disastrous, they had only sold 7 from Jan-Jun. This year will be the same, or worse.

 

10# were sold in August alone, which exceeds your estimate of 7 for six months.

 

The numbers in the articles I posted are from the official dealer. There are always a few grey market cars that are also sold. Not sure where you get your info, but it could be the case.

All I know is that they will not have a great year in 2016...

 

Interestingly, the per capita ownership of new cars is about the same for US (1 per 143,596) and Australia (1 per 149,700).

 

Speaking of GDP per Capita, and I'm saying it again, some of these numbers really don't make any sence at all, Ferrari sales vs. inhabitants (in Millions):

Belgium - 81 11,2M
Sweden - 63 9.6M
Czech Republic - 60 10.5M
Luxembourg - 35 0.5M
Holland - 30 16.8M
Denmark - 3 5.6M
Norway - 1 5.1M

From the list above Luxembourg has the highest GDP per capita, followed by Norway, Holland, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and finally Czech.

Ofcourse their are large differences between country's wealth and income distribution given taxes, natural resources, social welfare, wealth distribution, pension funds, housing markets etc.

But even then the above numbers seem off....

Number of Ferraris aboy 30 of all ages, made from the 1960's to the latest models.

 

Woodbridge Ontario Canada has (or did have) the most Ferrari's per capita in the world.

You can't really go faster than 50 mph there, can you? Have they improved the road from Georgetown to Cayman Kai enough to let you stomp on it? (Haven't been back in 32 years).

 

Finland - 1 (in 2015 a Ferrari California, registered new, due to co2 emissions taxes are ca. €150k for a car like that) 5,5M population. And no, I do not know who it is, but I think I can easily find out, if I like.
