Seller should have at least returned lower spoiler and wheels back to stock if they want to pass off a "double mirror" as a factory option.

    Hi Dom

To be honest i don't know. But if i had to guess i think it was added because it was a power mirror and there were no button's for adjustment.

Off discussion topic I know, I have a perfect 1986 built, double high mirror, single bolt, factory RHD (#66821) here in Australia. The car came dealer-new from the UK in 1987 along with 3 others two of which were red with twin high mirrors. Im its second owner of 16 years now with 19k miles on it from new.

LH mirror fitment appears absolutely factory, but without seeing the actual factory build sheet one can never tell. Chances are it may have been the UK dealer that ordered it that way or they fitted it themselves. Can't see anyone outside Maranello wanting to remove inside trim and drill a hole in the windscreen pillar of a brand new car of that value however.

Values have increased here recently. I was offered A$300k (US$210k), cash a couple of months ago and respectfully declined. Then again, it cost A$480k delivered new here in 1987......

The A$560k LHD car advertised looks ambitious to me also but so did the price of the Dino's not so long ago.

At least it cannot be denied that it did not come with the fender shields from the factory.

Hi Michael, that makes sense then! Just made me think - if there isn't a part listing anywhere for the dual mirror switch for the flying mirror period of production, then it would make sense that they probably never did dual flying mirrors....

Your car looks great though 👍

Isn't it strange how non of the value guides give a difference between the flying mirror and dual mirror cars.

Don't get me wrong I understand to some people they are ugly but it seems a bit short sighted that the guides assume the values are the same despite the much lower production - unless it's just that the earlier cars tend to be higher mileage so it evens it out a bit ?

Uh oh erm that was probably a bad choice of word for a car I love - can I back track a little....

To some people they may seem a bit unbalanced!

Which I guess is why I have one :p

Ouch!! Its as well that wasn't RHD Dom.....Bad enough as it is.....At this point the steel doors begin to make sense.

Did they rebuild her or is this yet another early 'Rossa never to grace the roads again?

Sorry that`s Michael`s not mine! Like you say it doesn`t look like the driver would have come out of it if it was RHD - though I guess the accident would have happened different if it was in a RHD country anyway.

It`s all just fate! Obviously you can tip the odds for or against you a bit by how you drive but when something like that happens there`s nothing you can do is there.

Glad you got out of it Michael!

Read through much of this thread. Have been actively looking for a TR. Prices on internet are all over the place for 88-90 cars. Seems asking on cars.com is 125-250. Why such a disparity? Seems like these cars have been listed for a while.

Just like a anything - depends on condition and how much they have in the car.

Keep in mind they were +\- $50k cars not long ago, so someone who bought within the past 4yrs will make a hefty profit regardless of sale price vs a dealer that just acquired a unit and has to mark it up. In collector car circles sellers are always testing the market and just 3yrs ago I was arguing that the TR would not exponentially increase, but in reality they have along with other Fcars (308,328,355, etc) - as you know asking prices are not actually selling prices so just make an offer.

Just for laughs. A couple years ago I had a thread asking where the $30,000 cars were. Because there were a couple (rough ones) trading there.

how so didn't the silver one go for 140k and a 92 512tr went for mid 200s? that's disappointing to you? they were 50/70k cars a few yrs ago

    You are all knowing..

I said auction prices.. In general. If the classics go down the TR, 308, 328, etc will follow. But of course you will dispute that because you know everything.

I would agree with you but I did think 50k-60k was bit too low at the time. But I do think 150-200k in today's world is over hyped. Think they will come down again..
