Repairing the front "carpet" on a 355

    Mine is cracked and broken on the underside. This is strange stuff to be called "carpet".
    Soft and fuzzy on the outside, and brittle on the underside. Seems someone before me bent it a bit much and it broke and some pieces fell/broke off.
    So anybody have a fix or suggestion ?
    The cost of a new one, and protecting it during shipping makes it a very spendy item.
