Hi gang, looking to lower and widen the stance on my FF. Any experience/advice on the subject is greatly appreciated. Did the same on my 430 by lowering stock setup and adding spacers. Car sits and handles a lot better. do I go the same way or look at new springs etc ? thank you much in advance, Speef
I lowered my 430 using stock suspension and it felt like crap at .75 and .5 inches lower. it was sloppy and I bottomed out a ton. I also lowered my FF the same amounts and ended up going back to stock. if ur going to lower the car I wld use an aftermarket suspension.
If you are going to lower your FF, I would only suggest doing that if you have the lifter - the front overhang and the wheelbase are long, and it will bottom Novitec makes springs and spacers. An acquaintance lowered his and it worked with no problem with the 4RM (which measures relative slip angles among other variables). However, the car did not look quite right, so in the end he ended up changing it to a modest 7mm drop. While a lower CG theoretically helps any car, the FF is long wheelbase, has a high polar moment of inertia and quite frankly did not feel different lowered. However, if you want to try, go for it, obviously the right alignment is going to be key to how it feels (including corner balancing).
