    Hey guys,

    Question.

    1. Did the 308's come new with an OEM warning triangle that came in a plastic fitted, square protector case? (The case us usually gray or tan)

    2. Also, does any one know if all/most of the 308s come with a small bulb/fuse holder round container?

Thank you in advance. Much appreciated.

PS. In my situation, I'm referring to early carb cars.

The consensus on this forum is that US cars did not come with the emergency triangle, whereas euro cars were delivered with it. And yes, all cars came with the bulb container; again, euro cars had different bulbs inside, as US cars have sealed beams.

Mine's an "84" (build Oct '83) German euro spec delivery to US and came with triangle in a red-ish case.

Just some addendum to what Bruno said, according to my understanding.

The triangle shall be "costaplastik" brand and most came with 308s are light yellow in colour. The triangle itself is red with white backing and an aluminum stand. I've seen grey, green, blue and red cases as well.

The bulb/fuse holder is usually "rotor" brand with a green cap and black base. US ones have a spark plug placed in the middle holding spot where a bulb is placed in Euro ones. There are often a very similar type of holder for sale but not of the "rotor" brand. Possibly real OEM but it cannot be confirmed.

EDIT: added also green colour to the triangle.

For what it's worth, some countries (like Germany) require every car to have a triangle and first aid kit. As such, I would imagine that Ferrari would equip their cars accordingly, or at least for the target market.

Bottom line, these may not have been provided for the US market, but for the European market.

It is pretty simple and well known. No triangle for US cars. If you don't believe me just look in the parts book. Ferrari says #106879 No vale per USA

If the car did come with a triangle where was it stored? Was there a specific place for it?

Yes; but nowadays it is mandatory in France to have one inside the car, in the cockpit. So the correct "Costaplastik" ones stay at home, and some other suitable emergency triangle is now stored under the seat, inside the 328s, with the reflecting jacket, mandatory inside the car also. I don't know what they will ask us to have inside the car next...

Yes Steven, the color of the "Costaplastik" sheath can vary a lot; very late production 328s have either medium grey, light green or light beige/grey; but I wouldn't be surprised by other color here and there either.

I keep mine in the Kitchen, next to the dishwasher.
it's too rare and valuable to actually USE!

I should sell it back to Europe, I suppose....

In Texas, it would be the fire extinguisher, and a .45 cal pistol.
More useful than the reflective vest, but I have that, too!

Does anyone have pictures of what a First Aid kit for the 308 would look like? Anyone have one?

I'd leave the fire extinguisher at home.

    Haha a .45 eh!!!

I remember renting a 355 in Miami when I was working there and being told not to go to certain areas as I was very likely to be shot for the car. I hated pulling up at traffic lights !!!!

I have had to raise the hood and use it, after a header blow out.

    Probably a bad idea, in retrospect.......:D :D

The fan belts and hoses against the RH tank were burning.
I did pull on off the feeder and into the Jersey Village Fire Station...LOL!

Just happened to be where I was.....
