As I understand 20mm spacers will be perfect , cause OEM wheels are too much inside the fenders. I have Speedline Corse wheels as I understand they have same offset like OEM wheels ? Which spacers is the best 15 or 20mm ? I want to have wheels and fenders on same level Also heard that if I put spacers I can have vibration in steering wheel ! It's better to have spacers with longer bolts or it's better to screw the spacer and after put wheel on with standard bolts? Thanks
If you have Challenge wheels, I think 15mm are best. I have them on my Challenge wheels and it brings the rim out to fender edge Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The ones you are referring to that screw on then you use your stock bolts are only for 1'' to 2"+ spacers. For a thin 5mm-20mm spacer, really the only way is longer bolts. Mine are 15mm and Im running a lot of negative camber Image Unavailable, Please Login
What length of the bolts are you using with 15mm and challenge wheels? Any link or where to buy ? Thanks Btw do you have photos from the back to show how the wheels are looking to fender edge ?
IMO the only way to go is the style that take longer bolts, no matter what the thickness of the spacers. The other style doubles the number of potential failure points and it also means that your wheels are held on by aluminum. No way in the world would this be acceptable on a track car, so why risk it on a street car? The ones that use longer bolts aren't that much more money and you get shiny new lug bolts to boot. Great shot of your car, Ken. It looks awesome!
tryptomine, I sense that you're trying to transform your F355 Berlinetta into something close to a Challenge car. Don't be so concerned with appearance. Spacers are for show and not for go. Why stress your car's suspension? A Challenge car has no spacers and performs beautifully... . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Plus any handling difference that spacers provide, one can dial in with ride height adjustments simply by turning the spring perches.
I like to the look when the wheels are on same edge as fenders looks better. Anyone know the length of the bolts for 15mm spacers on challenge wheels, cause on challenge wheels bolts are longer then on OEM wheels , so it must be even longer with 15mm spacer.
If you are adding 15mm spacers then you need bolts 15mm longer than you already have! regardless of what wheels you are using. http://www.hillengineering.co.uk/catalog/wbbl01-p-227.html
One more , different angle. FYI, I had to get a wheel alignment and camber adjustment to make it all work well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mine has 15mm front and rear. Longer bolts. Oh and it's decked, still on stock 265s. Michelins come up nice and rounded, not so square like some others. Just bought a new set of pilot super sport's so I hope they come up the same when I fit them. I'm tempted to go for a 215 up front instead of the 225 to gain a little curvature in the tyre but as yet I am undersided. Image Unavailable, Please Login
No I did not have to...I like the way it looks with 15mm spacers, gives the car a much meaner stance and looks amazing, should see it in person..., and no rubbing whatsoever and its been over 2 years. but keep in mind , if you do lower the car( witch can be done very easily by lowering stock coil overs) that will change the camber and alignment, so it would be wise to have those adjusted .
15mm bring them out perfectly even with fenders Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What maximum tire width I can put on challenge wheels with 15mm spacers? 235/40 and 295/35 or I can go wider or ?
I love the flush look too but do be careful with the spacers.. I put 15mm on my front end and screwed up the fender lip. The car wasn't especially low either. Rolling them is also not advisable since the Ferrari paint is very hard and 15-20 years old at this point, therefore likely to crack.
