Jim aka i-velocita makes some pretty damn good shields, A+quality! Highly recommend. Kevin @ Audio Illusions put her back to what I like, Ferrari. Pulled out all the early 90's aftermarket stuff and put in a new head unit. Kevin is the go to audio guy here in LA. Hands down the best in the business. I have his shields on my 355 too! Radio looks great- hopefully you never turn it on- the music is the motor!
I can hardly wait to get the stereo install finished in the 348. I absolutely love the engine note through the Tubi and have test pipes waiting to go on in order to enhance that beautiful noise. But that doesn't mean I don't want to enjoy my favorite music at the same time. After all, I can listen to more than one thing at a time. I even listen to music on the track.
High quality 3M double sided tape. He sends detailed instructions on how to get the location correct. I had Yoshi shields on my 360 (bought car and shields around 2009) then when I sold that and got the 355 last year Yoshi was no longer selling, but then I found I-velocitia and they are just as nice. When I had my 360 I parked next to the same car with factory shields at a car show and the shields were inches apart the shields were virtually identical- even in the type of paint used. I assume these are just as good as far as accuracy to factory. They are great! The only difference is the factory slightly indents the shields into the fenders, but no one notices that unless they are looking for it. Even many Ferrari owners at car meets don't notice they aren't factory.
Becker- same unit I had in my 2000 360. The later 360s had the same unit with maybe an extra button or two (some of the later one had navigation I believe, but pretty crude since not a nav screen). Bottom line though, the radios are to have an OEM look (or in the case of the 355/348 a period correct look since I don't think there was a Ferrari labeled radio until late in the 355 run)- but under no circumstances should they be used while driving
As what has already been said the radio is a Becker and the model is CDR 220. They made the same unit available in the early 2000's for Porsche as well. They do come up on E Bay at times and Becker had some a number of months back which I believe were the refurbished units so they don't always have them in stock. The Porsche units are much easier to find, we would just need someone who could remove that name and replace with Ferrari . Not a bad factory head unit, I have one in my 996TT.
The Becker unit for Ferrari is BE4372. I bought one last year in the parts section. They were oem on some F355 including my 1997.
My 1998 355 has a Sony unit (oem) that has the ferrari label on it. Stock radio. Pretty week it is better off.
