    Are you sure that's not just Photoshoped? Given the clearances, I don't see any way shape or form of that functioning in the real world or track. Makes a cool photo however!

    Waterboarding is too easy a punishment for doing this to a perfectly good sports car.

    I'm thinking drawn and quartered is closer to where I'd go with this.

    This is a specific style that is popular right now amongst the youth. It has its roots in Japanese bosozoku and drift cultures. The artist does this with several iconic classic cars. I think it's cool as an idea. He knows it gets all the purists bent out of shape. It would never be done in real life. But if it gets a kid to look at a 308 and think it's cool then I'm all for it.

    I used to do quite a bit of 3D professionally; it's likely no one told the artist which direction the tread goes - and if they didn't, unless the artist was a car guy - they'd have no was of knowing.

    Photoshop has a lot to answer for...
    Can we please stop referring to these things as 'design' - rather, they are doodles which really take very little skill. At least a hand drawn sketch has some artistic value.
