Larry- 0-60 times are pretty worthless as a discriminator and vary widely with altitude, driver, and track conditions. In general, there were no power differences between the 07-11 599s, except for the GTO. The change from Motronic 7.1.1 to 7.3.2 in Fall 2007 was a reliability and faster trim change, not a power upgrade. The HGTE package introduced for MY 10 in the US included no engine upgrades and power was the same as the standard 599.

I also thought in addition to the handling changes, the HGTE had a slightly faster shifting trans than non HGTE cars and exhaust tips change. Perhaps these subtle changes didn't resulting in any difference in the 0-60 times, but would have been beneficial to lap times in conjunction with all the suspension changes. For $30K the option was quite a bargain from Ferrari given all the changes that were included in the package and I'm quite surprised more were not originally sold.

Affirmative, HGTE lowered min shift times to 85 ms from 100 ms. No effect on power, obviously. There are several threads spelling out what is included in the HGTE package, including the performance package.
