That's why I picked Denver to win....because of their defense, not because of Peyton Manning.

He looked like he had practiced at all in 2 weeks.

He was overly confident and I think his stupid ass "people hate me because I'm a black quarterback" comment, had him feeding himself with a bunch of negative energy.

I didn't see anything after the game, but that's pathetic. I'm like you, I've really grown to respect Cam because I thought he had changed. I guess he hasn't.

I think he saw Demarcus Ware right next to the ball and figured it would be silly to hop in the pile, as Ware had a chance to make a VERY easy fumble recovery. Somehow he didn't, and I bet that if Cam dove in there we would still have at least have one more drive to make a comeback.

Really sloppy game by Carolina's offense though. The defense played well enough to give us plenty of opportunities to make a comeback, but Cam was not sharp, and when he did make an on-target throw, the receivers would drop the pass. I'm not going to make any excuses for Cam in the press conference, but I think there should be more than a ten minute cool down, especially after you lose the Super Bowl : /

The post game interview? A tad understandable. He is 26, just lost biggest game of his career, and is repeatedly being asked same dumb questions by reporters. The less than max effort on fumble, agree, that'll be a sore point for a long while, particularly if he never makes it this far again or in the near future...T

Dabbing, dancing, group photos before the game expired. You don't like it, "Don't let me in the end zone", according to Cam Newton. Guess what?!....Denver did exactly that!! Cam should show Denver, his teammates, the fans, the NFL and his peers the respect they deserve!

Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Jim Kelly, Russell Wilson have all endured losses at the big show and showed class and respect.

Anyone notice why Cam wasn't on the field during the coin flip? As a captain of the team you would think he would be right in the middle of the action, right? I know I would want to be standing across from Manning, letting him know he will have to go through me to get the ring.... Unfortunately Cam was too busy changing out of the UA MVP shoes he wore running out of the tunnel during team intros.

Can't agree with you on the cool off period unless you think there should be a special provision for Cam. Look at Russel Wilson last year with the gut wrenching loss when he tossed the int. He was a leader at the press conference.

Not sure how much more time Cam should have been given, according to the media, he slouched into the interview room late, well after a number of his teammates, rookies and veterans alike, had gamely answered one painful question after another.

Didn't Wilson's offensive coordinator throw Wilson and the WR under the bus when asked about that play call after the game?

Hopefully Newton will figure some of these things out though...I do get tired of all the celebrations during the season, hopefully something like this will show him that it's not always gonna be easy and isn't all about him.

I may be in the minority.. . but I have NO problem with how Cam acted in the press conference. Hes been getting bashed all night and all day today about it.

Im not a Cam fan or a hater.... but what I saw was a competitor, put in a miserable situation after losing the most important game of his life!! knowing he and his team got schooled!! and played horrible. No time to digest what just happened, and thrown into the lions den, fielding one stupid question after another!

id be more pissed if he was like no biggey... we'll be back, smiling and laughing!

Denver D was unbelievable. Payton is lucky to be able to hide behind that defense. Can't think of a more mediocre/poor performance by a Super Bowl winning Quarterback. Now GET OUT. Don't be Brett Favre and make a fool out of yourself. You're not good anymore.

I don't blame Newton either. The guy really is human with emotions, who says you're suppose to act a certain way. Leave him alone and let him learn.

I don't remember that about the Seattle OC.

Cam has mad skills, no doubt about it. He just suffers from the occasional brain fart going all the way back to UF and the computer shenanigans.

The celebrations didn't really bother me. I liked them giving the balls away and so on. It's entertainment. To me though, it makes it look worse though when he pouts if it doesn't go his way.

There's no doubt in my mind he'll be back and I'm not a hater. He's a force.

Now Manning can retire and disappear. Not sure how you top being the oldest Qb to ever win the superbowl as well as the first to do it with two teams.

You are in the minority here. All the players are professionals and should exhibit professional behavior win or lose...no matter how big a game it was-it is still a game-they aren't soldiers risking their lives to protect a bunker. What Cam has displayed this year in the excessive taunting celebratory behavior, lack of urgency in jumping on that fumbled ball, and lack of professionalism in the post game press conference shows very poor sportsmanship. Most people don't have a huge problem with celebrations, but if you and your team go into the Super Bowl telling everyone that "we are unique and the greatest, and could have put up 60 points on a team you just pummled, and if you have a problem with my dancing- then stop us from scoring" then you are gonna be open to this firestorm of criticism. Whatever happened to the ideal of sportsmanship? This is not the example that I would aspire my kids to follow...

I just listened to ESPN in the car. I had no idea the CAM story had blown up the way it has. About 1/2 the discussion is about Cam during the show I listened too.

FWIW, and I'm a huge Denver fan, I thought Peyton plugging Budweiser was tacky.

Manning owns part of a couple of Budweiser distributors. I'm sure he's partial to the brand.

Cam needs to show sportsmanship, class, whatever you want to call it. If you want to be brash when you win, be humble when you lose. People will respect you on and off the field.

I'm not a big fan of all the showboating in sports. I could never, ever invision Fred Biletnikoff jumping up, after making a spectacular grab, and giving the 1st down signal. And then Dick Butkus would have decked him on the next play, regardless of where he was on the field. Showing my age :) :)

Half or more of the SB story is about Cam. Lol.

Cam must be working the media like a certain New Yorker running for president. :D

Plus 32 Papa John's franchises in Colorado.

Peyton is no dummy. He knows it is against NFL rules to plug alcoholic beverages. Thus, l suspect Peyton knows he will be retiring soon. Just a guess.
