I just got a recall notice from Ferrari for my 1998 355. Fuel line recall was not done by the last owner, it will be going to get it done soon.

I've done the fuel block update for a couple clients. The parts are available from Ricambi and if combined with other service items doesn't cost much to do.

So did I. They must be making the rounds on reminders. Maybe the next owner of my car will live closer then 500 miles from a dealer and will get it done.

I didn't think there was any issue with 2.7 cars?

Early 2.7 cars with dual fuel pumps did have a recall but it was not related to the fuel block divider recall. Later 2.7 cars with single pumps were subjected to the fuel block divider recall.

What needed to be fixed on the dual pump cars?

Every Ferrari with fuel hoses from the 348 and up had hose recalls.

That's what happens when you use your sisters cousin to make your fuel hoses.

Ferrari could dedicate a binder with just fuel and oil hose recalls.

???? Don't know about that. The recalls I have are issued through the US NHTSA. They may well (probably in most cases) apply to other countries too. Call dealer to check.

Mine had the fuel block recall done 3+ years ago just before I purchased the car. Apparently the fuel lines themselves were not part of the recall, just the fuel block. One of my fuel lines had rubbed against the clamp and worn through the SS braiding and into the rubber and the previously owner had elected not to replace the fuel line.

I happened to check a few weeks ago after seeing the thread of the car catching fire in Dubai and the posts mentioning to check the fuel lines. Mine were no longer rubbing but even so I was not comfortable with leaving the worn line in place. It ran me about $450 to have it replaced. About $300 for the part and $150 for the labor.

The recall says to replace any damaged fuel hoses. We never had Ferrari refuse to pay. The damage was directly caused by the part being recalled and was in fact the reason for the recall. They really had no ability to refuse. It just requires an additional claim process and a dealer willing to do what is right.

I had assumed so much but it wasn't done at the time and the dealer/shop that had done the recall work is no longer an authorized dealer, simply now an independent shop. I had brought the car in expecting them to do the work at no charge to me. Probably no way for them to get paid from Ferrari for the additional work now so they charged me for it. The tech is very well known in Southern California (I'm sure that you may know him as well) but he didn't volunteer to me that it should have been done differently in the first place.
