It is not a full picture of the car but it was 80+ degrees in So CAL on Saturday. I washed, waxed and detailed my 430 and other cars... Busy day but the car looked fantastic.... I am taking a day off tomorrow and taking it out for a full day ride... Yeah... Image Unavailable, Please Login
F430 race seats are one of the biggest upgrades to a 360/F430, imo. I need to find a second set because now I can't stand the Daytonas in my 550 as they just aren't even close to the race seats.
Lovely. Are the seat belt hole covers carbon or black aluminum? I dislike the silver ones in my car so looking at OEM alternatives.
Sorry, I turned that picture black and white, although inside the car, in a bit of shade it's a bit hard to see in a picture - They are carbon, as are the side adjusters/covers. Edit - maybe you can see in this one... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Your easiest oem option are the F430 race seats like what CM2 and I have. They are all carbon and have nicer stitching than the 360 counterparts but are the same shells as the CS seats. Another really good choice is the 458 race seat. They are a (usually) leather version of the Scuderia seats which are (usually) in a technical fabric.
I was thinking much simpler (and cheaper) get the carbon parts from the F430 race seat and install them into my 360 race seats to replace the silver aluminum ones.
Interesting to hear that the race seats impact your enjoyment so much... Are they that much more comfortable, or is it something else that delivers for you?
It's hard to say exactly what it is. They're substantially lighter than power Daytona seats but for whatever reason, it's hard for me to get comfortable in the factory Daytonas. Three of my cars have race seats (348 CH have one piece OMP, F40 has Euro spec one piece OEM seats, and the 360 has the two piece F430 race seats) and one doesn't. The cars with the race seats feel so much better and supportive for longer drives and more spirited drives. You also sit a little lower and as such I feel see a little more. In addition, I fee a lot more connected to the car. Ultimately, if I can find race seats for the 550 that don't cost a body part, I'm getting them in a heartbeat so that I can have that experience is all of my cars. FWIW, I'm 5'10" and 165 lbs. I can't speak for how the seats feel for someone taller and bigger. Full disclosure: I have broken my back 3x and my pelvis 2x and that may impact my ability to get comfortable in the Daytonas.
Before I got my 328 and then my 360 I had an 06 Maserati GS Spyder. In 06 only they had a carbon seat. It was lightly padded, seems similar to the carbon sport seats option on 360/430 I like the F cars far more than the Masi, but those seats were great! But I am not ready to drop the huge $ for the sport seats on the 360 as great as they are...
Having just transitioned... they are a great updated look, but more than that they really support your body when you are going around corners so you aren't sliding back and forth. Also sheds 51lbs.
Hopefully this spring I'll see you at cars & coffee. I'd like to sit in your 360 and check out how the race seats feel. If I think they work for me I'll start trying to source a set. 🤔
