Out over the pacific between Hawaii and Alaska.... The jet stream was over 200 knots for a while, the ground speed got below 100 knots but I didn't get a pic until it was back up to 109. Had to watch the fuel careful otherwise would have pulled back the power just to see what happens with the computer when you are going backwards over the ground. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Heading home from Puerto Vallarta today. Fl360 coming up on Guymas. 100kts. On the nose, 309 across the ground. Image Unavailable, Please Login
USS Missouri and SBX-1 radar platform at Pearl Harbor a couple days ago Image Unavailable, Please Login
One more fun pic..... Always select INS 2 before re-aligning INS 1 in flight otherwise you will get a whoop whoop terrain even at 32k feet. Image Unavailable, Please Login
And it's easy to see as well! I first spotted it 80-100 miles away based on the time stamps of my pics, it was a bright spot way off in the hazy distance that was easily visible in daylight. I took a pic of it off in the distance because I was curious what was so bright. That turned out to be the "solar accumulator" tower that all the mirrors shine on. Then as we flew over the mirrors had a sort of sparkle effect. Will try and post some more pics later.
Cool pics..thanks for posting up! I had to lookup the radar platform and see it's varied partly troubled history between Alaska and Hawaii by the looks: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea-based_X-band_Radar
