Obviously God was on their side and shielded the crew from harm. Papal jet attacked by laser as Pope Francis approached Mexico City Airport | Daily Mail Online
Should note firstly the Daily Mail isn't the epitome of journalistic integrity....... However, I still maintain while such an 'attack' is no doubt distracting and a PITA on final approach, it's not going to burn anyone's eyeballs out. I have a good buddy who's heavily into lasers, I'll drop him a mail & see what he says. (I've seen him shoot his home built green laser fire across huge distances - Impressive, but I don't think dangerous stuff.) Cheers, Ian
I beg to disagree.....they have all the best stories Drunk monkey grabs foot-long kitchen knife and chases after men at Brazilian bar after drinking leftover rum... but leaves the women alone | Daily Mail Online Fortunately there aren't a lot of stories of permanent eye damage from laser incidents but I recall that there was a case where a C-17 pilot suffered permanent injury and I also ran across this story. BA pilot's eye damaged by 'military' laser shone into cockpit at Heathrow | World news | The Guardian
You seem to hear a lot about lasings in the middle east. As far as I can figure they must not have much to do over there, so they shine lasers at planes. It happened to me twice so far.
