Really cool car! Can't wait to see more.
I decided not to install the turbo. The car just sounds to perfect now to mess it up. Everyone that has driven the car agrees. I gave the turbo to my friend that has just restored a 78 Koenig car and is getting ready to install it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It doesn't look like you street drive it that much but I'm curious as to whether or not the hood mod. keeps the cabin cooler? Lost

Well it's time. Bill from GT Car Parts stopped by and identified the engine as a 76 or possibly early 77 block. Took it apart today, thankfully no surprises. Image Unavailable, Please Login
hi...i have a question to your friend who restore a Koenig 78 GTB, i own the same car for since a few years...did he remove the parts already or not ?
Cool car. I'm wondering about the Kalispell Montana plates. What Tax or Licensing advantage is there with a 308 to license in Montana? As an FYI........if this is mainly a track car, you can get Montana Year Of Manufacture plates for the car and license it as a vintage car for about $75.00 one time fee.

I got these permanent plates about 10 years ago when it was still a battle to get the car through emissions here in AZ. I think it cost me $65.00 then to transfer title and procure the plates as to the $1000 - $2000 ea. year to have the car detuned and sent through AZ emissions. Then became almost impossible when you were not allowed to operate your own vehicle at the testing station. You put someone in the seat that did not know how to drive the car to pass emissions it would fail every time. So it made Montana plates a no brainer. Still have residence in Kalispell so I still run the Montana plate. The car was set up primarily as a track day car but I still drove it every day. I don't track the car anymore as I lost the feeling and function of my lower legs and use a wheelchair. I can still drive the car, but not at a level I feel comfortable enough to drive at the track. (It's one thing if I pile up my own car, but I don't want to take out someone else in the process) The engine is all apart and the were no surprises. Just going to refresh it, put in some gapless rings, reseal everything and maybe play with the cam timing a little bit. Have not decided if I'm going to sell the car or not. I can still drive it, but transporting the wheelchair is another matter. We will see, have some ideas, but I don't want to start welding stuff to the car to transport a wheelchair or put in hand controls that cannot be removed. (That would destroy the car in my opinion)
Yes, Scott's car is almost completed. The turbo was all mocked up a couple months ago and then sent the parts out for powder coat. He pulled the big webber carb off and replaced it with a throttle body, welded in some bungs onto the intake for injectors and uses a mega squirt to control everything. Fixes my old draw through turbo concerns. I always had reservations about running fuel through a red hot turbo, I know, it's how we used to do it, but today it just seems wrong. I'll get some pics and post them.
David. Saw your super nice car (and motor) at Alex's shop last week. Looks great. My '77 Euro with an August '77 build date was not too far ahead of yours as Alex was saying when comparing chassis numbers. It's currently being de-Koenig-ified. Front air dam and rear wing are available if your friend needs them for his Koenig.
New Sandon compressor conversion from GT Car Parts here in Arizona. Life is good, and ice cold. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Installed both crane cams fireball ignition units into the rear distributer clocked at 90 degrees from each other. The front distributer has no guts in it so timing is all done from the rear distributer. Slick installation that looks completely stock. Not my idea ( I wish I was that sharp) was done at Alex Traverso's shop here in AZ. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is a pic of Scott's installation. They just need to finish plumbing the intercooler and finish setting up the injection. It's pretty close. Image Unavailable, Please Login
