+1 Also gotta remember this guy is a hugely experienced racer. Sure, not in F1, but to a large degree "racing's racin'" Poking around their web site is pretty impressive. I may well be wrong, F1's *hard* as we know, but I've certainly got high hopes for them. It also looks like he's got the right kind of budget, & that always helps..... Cheers, Ian
Nah. Nose is entirely different, sidepods and coke bottle are bigger/fatter, different wheel base etc etc...
It might be worthwhile to combine all the pics of the cars, which premiered together in its own thread. For looks and comparisons.
Would be very cool to see the Alfa brand in F1. I don't give a hoot whether it is only for marketing purposes or not. I love Lotus back in F1. And for the purists: There is no car brand today, which exists solely on its own merits. EVERY car brand is in cahoots with another brand. So don't give me the "boohoo, this is not really Lotus/Alfa/Renault/whatever". Purity has long left the stage in favor of globalization.
There is also video of some running this weekend, so that's nice to know before testing starts that the car starts, and has been around the track! The Haas F1 team website says their store is "coming soon", so I'm budgeting my F1 wardrobe money for Haas this year.
I noticed that. Very cool that they've got the 'important' stuff up (engineering, shop detail etc) before worrying about selling swag IMO. I'm sure they'll sell lots - from the reactions here they could almost 'do a Ferrari' on the swag & pay for the whole thing! Again, good luck to 'em. Seems Gene has his act together. Cheers, Ian
To be fair, most cars looks same as last year. But then again, this is probably a launch and car and it won't be the same looking as Melbourne and Barcelona. Good looking, but they should have thrown more unconventional colours, rather than the silver, black, red. Sauberish.
I live where Haas is HQ'd and I wish their F1 team was here as well, but then again I doubt I would be able to see any of their F1 stuff.
Looks different in many areas to my eyes...nose alone which everyone seems to be so caught up with is quite different.
After watching a surprisingly entertaining Daytona yesterday...I'm sure of it now...definitely NASCAR-ish and missing that higher end look that F1 should have. After the race...Romain: "The Haas, Wonderbread Bread, 5 Hour Energy, Ryobi Tools, Bass Pro Shops F1 Car felt good out there today."
Time to get those eyes checked chief! - Apart from a generic, modern F1 car shape, they look nothing alike whatsoever!
Luckily Blick already did all the work: Hier sehen Sie die neuen Autos: Der Wahnsinn vor dem Teststart in Barcelona - Blick Just click on the red right arrow below the pics and you'll see them all. Nice work.
Love this detail of the rear. Shows off the extra trumpets that will be on most of the other 2016 cars and that gold leafing is super sexy, never seen that being run on external aero bits before. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah, I like it a lot. Very 'clean' looking to my eye. And that's generally a good thing. "If it looks right, it probably is right". Cheers, Ian
