I think this discussion is healthy and good. If I can revise my original post, I propose that we "consider" offering an alternative on occasion.

And forget lunch at a restaurant. That's a disaster and a huge expenditure of time. Meeting up and possibly going to the China Buffet or a local pizza place would suffice.

All good Dave. We need you to be a part of the group. You have amazing Fcars. Just go to bed a little earlier on Saturday night. LOL! I will bring a portable espresso machine and wake you up.

Since everyone is piling on, I would like to challenge the individuals in the group to politely respond to my original ideas, which I will better organize below.

    1) Many people enjoy enjoying their Saturday nights with the wives/girlfriends. Often go to bed later than usual. Some people would prefer not to wake up at 6:30-7am only to bolt out the door to make it to a 9am meet. An 11am meet would allow for some productivity in the morning. Sunday is a day that was designed for respite, family, house errands, etc.
    Is this untrue or unreasonable?

    2) Many people enjoy enjoying their mornings in bed for at least a few minutes or maybe an hour with their wife or girlfriend. Especially on Sunday. During the week, often each one gets up out of bed without even talking to the other. Some people even enjoy sex on Sunday mornings before getting the day started. Is there a better or more convenient morning on which to do this?
    Is this untrue or unreasonable?

    3) Many people enjoy Sunday mornings with their children. Cooking breakfast for them, watching cartoons, etc.
    Is this untrue or unreasonable?

    3) There is **no** traffic on Sunday that results in stop-and-go driving on any highway at 12:45-1pm and definitely not beforehand. Volume starts to accumulate after 2pm. If you disagree, and this is the best case you have against the proposition, I recommend looking for a better reason. If you disagree, then we will just have to agree to disagree, because this point really cannot be ascertained one way or the other.

    4) The location I suggested is an immense location that allows for all kinds of awesomeness. It allows for other useful activities besides just the meet without having to drive anywhere. The present location is conveniently located, but very tight and hardly convenient for anything else besides the meet.
    Is this untrue or unreasonable?

Sure, I haven't taken a poll to the guys in the group. So what I have reasoned may not be applicable.

    I'm just hoping it is.

I doubt my thinking is start-to-finish unreasonable thinking and I am being steamrolled like I am proposing to invite all the Lamborghini guys or something.
    =====

If I can make an official proposal, I propose we continue to discuss and possibly consider trying a meet like the one I have discussed *twice* and see what happens. The world won't come to an end, and maybe we will discover something fun together.

I also should apologize to the group for giving the impression that we change the whole thing around. I didn't imagine quite thoroughly enough in my original post to clearly say that we should possibly try something different on occasion. Some of the guys in the group were kind enough and astute enough to articulate that option on their own. One of the examples of how a discussion is good.

I realize I am by no means tenured in this group and very low on the totem pole, but I've been lucky enough to enjoy this hobby going on my 13th year, so I think what I have to say comes from some solid experience and not just selfish motivation. Steve M. and others have been kind enough to devote way more time to these meets than I have, and that ought to be acknowledged. I would like to point out that some of the reasoning I've given has precluded me from enjoying much of the time you guys have spent together, which I regret.

    I understand completely.

I have a reasonable solution. Just because most of us get there at 9am and leave by 11:00-11:30 doesn't mean others, including you, can come later and just keep it going!
Steve the bagel store owner loves having us there and will extend the discount of 20% into lunchtime I'm sure. This way the early birds can come and go as we please and ones that want to come later can and stay as long as they wish. We don't have to be out of there at a certain time. It's just that the parking lot gets a bit busier.

    Life jacket thrown :)

    Haha. That makes sense.

And you even came down from deck 25 to like the third deck to throw the life jacket!!

Our Sunday morning bagels and Ferraris events timing is excellent the way it is! It is early enough that it does not interfere with the day, it is over in time to do whatever else is on your agenda. The parking lots at both our bagels venues is good at nine, but by the time we normally leave the lots start to fill up and securing a nice line of cars would become problematic. Indeed, we often disband when the lots start to fill up with less than careful "civilian" cars oblivious to the Ferraris. At our present venue, the bagel shop reserves parking for us, something that he could not do later in the day. The early morning also does provide traffic free roads . This has become a great get together at the current time as evidenced by our terrific turnouts. It gives us all an opportunity to get together, enjoy the group and not interfere with other plans.

We are not piling on. It's not a personal attack. It's just that the majority of people disagree with your point of view. And that's ok we all have differs opinions.

We still want to see you and all your great fcars at our get togethers

Dave, where were you today? I waited until 12 o'clock and had to leave. A few of us waited until then, since you wanted to show up a little later. Oh well, hope to see you next time.

Not sure if you're joking or not...

But I hadn't committed to coming today. I became ill yesterday and woke up today extremely ill and am relegated to probably what will be bed rest for several days.
