I had the same experience with the horn when I first tried to get my car inspected a year ago. I took it to a local chevy dealership, where my adult son worked as a service advisor. The Techs failed it on the horn being too loud!! In my case, no amount of arguing worked. I even showed them the Classiche certification to prove the horn is original!! I ended up going to one of the corner inspection places. Turns out the guy running it is a car guy, and we had a good laugh over the "loud horn" failure.

After reading your post, I've decided to put Antique plates on my Karmann Ghia. For the Mondial, I put custom plates on it. "MONDIAL" - not very original, but they look good. My wife gave me a ton of crap for getting a plate that basically echoed the name of the car. I showed her that the "FERRARI" custom plate recently auctioned for $15K. Who knows, maybe "MONDIAL" will be worth $15K someday.

I'm going to try and make C&C this time around - maybe. I think my wife is planning a trip out of town that weekend.

Also, have you read the thread in the Texas section on C&C? Because of the problems there, the local FCA chapter is starting a more private event. I'm not an FCA member, but I will be attending that event. Check out the thread, and email the organizer to get a pass to that show. Should be fun.

I really like this color for this model Mondials. I have never seen one though. Which transmission oil will you put in?

Hey Stephane ! looks good. Just like the one I bought from you, but, you have done a good job to paint the bumpers body color. Did you change the exhaust? If so, which one did you put on?
    Thanks.

    Thanks Gary,

It is an identical twin to yours I believe. The previous owner spent $25K on re-doing the interior leather interior, carpeting, and paint. The exhaust was custom fabricated from a Quicksilver since there isn't one for the Mondial QV. The sound is better than any other Mondial I have ever heard. I just love the coupe, it has such a great design. :)

I am not sure, but there is a chance I may sell them, I have another set I am looking at that will fit my taste a little better.

I would have them but, living in the UK, postage would be a killer, shame.

    Very cool look.

Taken today, waiting patiently for her new tag at the DMV amongst a sea of boring greys and beige.
