    You said it. I understand it's roughly twice the price of a US F12, nearly $800,000.

    I guess that's taxes and duties? Unfortunate, considering that Hong Kong used to stand for totally free trade.

    To be fair I think the car tax has always been high. I think it's necessary otherwise the roads would be so congested in Hong Kong. The current tax is:

    40% on the first $150,000
    75% on the next $150,000
    100% on the next $200,000
    and 115% on anything above $500,000

    so a $400,000 car would cost $672,500.

    That calculation is about right, I did get a better price cause I bought mine in late December and its a 2015 model.. the Chinese want the 2016 model even if its same specs and only a few weeks away; so you can negotiate a bit. Price closer to 590k. Steep yes, but also consider top income tax level in Hong Kong is around 15%, no ceiling. And correct re traffic/streets, without that tax it would be impossible to drive and pollution would go thru the roof. By the way in Singapore the tax can be around 300% on such a car...

    A (non-Ferrari) dealer is stuck with a yellow F12 that has a red interior. Hasn't sold in months now.
