I just took a ride with my wife and son; she drove the CS. Rosso Corsa or Rosso Scuderia? Pics on links below:
Nice set of twins...or is one of them a look alike...like it with the CF mirrors and the sticker stripes though not sure about the black painted challenge wheels or the snorkel on the other..is the snorkel bolted on to the roof?
It's an euro-spec coupe with Carbon Seats, OEM roll bar and harnesses. The F430 center lock Challenge wheels I put on to be able to clear the Challenge brakes, they were already black when I got them. The snorkel on the CS it's functional. It was made by Jim Foose when Adam Corolla own the car. It's bolted to the plexiglass, design after the look of the scope on the Maserati MC12.
Curious how the scoop is functional as the air boxes are on the other end, and I don't see any plumbing in between?
The estimate of the Hollywood Wheels auction was just posted: 2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale - Hollywood Wheels Auctions & Shows $275000 - $350000 Seems high to me for a 10k mile black car. It will be interesting to see what it goes for. A month ago, a similar car (Nero with red-black interior / factory stripe / luggage / only 3k miles) was auctioned by Gooding and sold for $265k hammer price ($291500 all-in). Ah, I see. So it's functional in the sense it sends fresh air into the engine bay, but is not used by the engine. I'd call it cosmetic if I understand you correctly.
Although it was not added by me I do understand why they did added it. There is a podcast from Adam Corolla on this. Some of us would pop the bonnet open as soon as we get out of the car specially after heavy traffic to let the heat out and conserve the engine bay. Carbon bay panels, rubber hoses, etc. dry up ever time from the heat. The engine bay temp is lower by the fresh air from the scope specially in comparison with my other coupe that does not have it.
at the same time owners couldn't give TR's, 308's, 328's away either... have you seen 328 prices lately? ok, back to our regular scheduled program... CS'. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Romney Auto Sales in Lewisville TX is selling a NART Blu CS on their website ( romneyautosales.com ) and in Europe on Mobile. There are a couple of red flags about this car: 1) The VIN ZFFDU57A540135225 doesn't belong to the car shown on the photos 2) The photos were taken by a different dealer in 2011 and this is a Tour de France Blu car instead of a NART Blu car 3) Phone number on their website is different than phone number on their store front Mobile ad: https://home.mobile.de/ROMNEYAUTOSALESLLC#des_222434656 Romney Auto Sales ad: 2004 Ferrari Challenge Stradale 2dr Cpe Challenge Not sure what is going on here but be warned and make sure to investigate if you are interested in this car! Many of you will recognize this car. It was for sale in Canada for a while and was later sold to a new owner in the Netherlands. It had quite a rough life in Canada, carfax shows it crashed at least once there. In January 2016, unfortunately the car crashed again here on the highway in the NL after a car show. I doubt it will be rebuilt but who knows. Apparently it will be offered for sale again soon in this condition.
