And of course, if your engine is F106A021 and not 020, then Luigi knew it was a dry sump, but just mixed up the sequence between dry and wet types.

The story of Bonhams car is correct ( The last 10 years in Greece it did very few kilometers. )

I saw the car a couple of years ago with boxer trim then ( Personally I don't like the boxer trim ! ).

The car was sold previously from Coys in 2005 Fiera di Padova.

The car was looking ok but it needed a full service, a new steering wheel !!! and a repaint then !.

    Martin,

Alberto's steel GTB being very close to yours, do you happen to know its engine number by any chance?

    Bruno,
I know. According to the letter from year 2000, I got from Ferrari, mine is the fourth last built carb GTB, and Alberto's the second to last.
Did I ever forward you that letter?
I somehow remember, having some conversation with Alberto in the past about engine and gearbox number.
I will look and come back, if you find anything.

Edit: found an older posting from Alberto, which shows an engine number earlier than mine, though his car is two chassis numbers later. But I also remember, that he once told something about replacement of the original engine in the factory prior to first delivery due to some technical issues. But he might chime in here.

Danke Martin; I was trying to figure out what the highest known number for a 021 engine could be...

    Bruno,

this would be highly interesting, because I just don't believe, that it's mandatory, that the latest cars also have the latest engines.
Manufacturing processes of body and engine manufacturing probably weren't simultaneous.

    Best Regards
    Martin

    Furanku,
Of course, the engine of Aircon car is a wet sump because of Australian species so it is normal (even though the number is about six month older than similar chassis number, this engine number is more close than US second batch engines number better than dec76 chassis...but at that time, exotic market were maybe a bit longer to make.... )

Well, I also had in mind Australian glass 308 had a wet sump, in which case the engine number would have been totally understandable (if they were the same as the GT4 ones), but on glass308.com, I found that most of the Australian cars's engine numbers were 021, which indicates a dry sump. Is the register wrong?

Furanku, maybe you have missed this interesting thread:
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328-sponsored-yellow-compass-group/495720-question-australian-owners-carbureted-308-a.html
Australian car has a incorrect label at the rear next to the chassis number where it is written a 021 engine (like UK cars) but they do have wet sump. Maybe informations given to the register was read from that plate.
if you look for example at chassis 19649 on glass308, you see the wet sump engine but with a 021 code in the form....
Thanks to Carl888 for its pictures from his car....

    Congratulation!
I've got a concern with the serial number.
21033 is also suppose to be a BB512.
This Boxer was offered in May 2008 in Maranello (RM Auctions - Leggenda e Passione Ferrari S.p.A, lot 320).

    Can you confirm?

    Peter,
you are of course correct - sorry for leaving your valued and sage advice out.
However, I was concerned you may not want to be "outed" as being a good guy.

    Thank you.
