You keep tying for the Dave Rocks exit you wanted but I don't see anyone biting. Good luck getting something going.
How about this . My salvage title 348 was in need of a belt service . I kept looking at the dismal build quality and dated styling of the worst ferrari ever and thought i better get out while i can . I put lipstick on that pig , shoved it up a buyers butt to the tune of $50k , and flipped it for a huge profit ......anything ? Any takers ? Lol Besides , my tuned , k24 turboed , 500 hp 996 twin turbo will beat any 355 out there , cmon , fchatters dont let me down , theres a banned for life fight here somewhere . I dont want to take the easy way out like a former member and call the wrong person the wrong word Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I started this thread to discuss going 19 years without a belt service. Why you chose my thread to disrespect F1's is a mystery to me, so as the threadstarter I'm happy to tell you to piss off!!
Funny how J&J Auto of Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania on its Facebook page sure seems proud of that 348 he now so gleefully bashes. "I put lipstick on that pig , shoved it up a buyers butt to the tune of $50k, and flipped it for a huge profit". Hmmm, wonder if the buyer of that "pig" is on FerrariChat and might want to consult with an attorney about the "lipstick" on that "pig" and having it shoved up his butt. Hmmm, wonder what the Bureau of Consumer Protection of the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office might think about this "admission" of "putting lipstick on that pig". Lawyers; sad that we just focus on the negatives. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Calm down , i just put some phrases i know have a history of pushing buttons . If you were here for any amount of time you would have known it was the type of car that took a first place trophy every time it was shown . It was a beautiful , perfect car that i loved , i just realized that when my buyer , neighbor and friend that knew the cars history offered me $50k i had to take it , i didnt think the car would ever be worth much more . Lawyers , pond scum . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
To this i would ssy, if you are flabbergasted by a simple issue like a routine service , maybe a ferrari isnt for you , buy a lotus with a toyota engine , a belt service is the least severe issue a 355 will throw at you during the course of ownership . Now things are getting interesting , not quite daverocks meltdown interesting tho , yet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Secretly i have a mancrush on him. I live in a small , boring town , when its especially boring here i come on fchat for entertainment , the porsche forum is boring , the egos there are smaller . Lol. When i looked up daves other business , i actually realized i could respect a guy like that , hes probably not a bad guy , and i do have to say , i looked at what he does with the refinishing and i can admire the work , but he did know how to push my buttons at times and i wish he would defend himself and take a little poking like a man instead if running to the mods . I think the fact that a 348 with a salvage title , ( that was due for a belt ) that sold for $50k speaks volumes to prove the car was perfect , thats pushing close to 355 spider territory. And there were two other customers of mine disappointed , they were in for $50k had they known i was willing to sell it . Went to a good home a mile away from me , and is now kept in a spankin new $35 k garage built just for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Are you freaking serious?! I stand corrected. Sorry if it sounded like an indictment of the car. It is a personal preference against the F1. I will started spreading the gospel of this "fix". BTW, the factory is partly responsible for the scarcity myth. It is, in fact, not a myth, but a truth perpetuated by the professionals. The NOS part is largely NA. Funny they never mention that there is a viable and inexpensive work around. I assume you still need to recalibrate the clutch disk sensor on the Ferrari diagnostic machine? Thanks for the clarification. Now if only the valve guide and header things could be so easily dispatched... Kidding
Hey. Fair enough. Sadly, the headers and valve guides are real issues with real financial concerns. But WTF it's just a car. Want expensive? buy an airplane!
