Yes, looks amazing Andres. (my inspiration for doing a white floor). I do agree that tile would be the best. Even with a urethane top coat scratches are noticeable on the white. Nothing horrible but I think the tile would be more durable over time.
What type or composition of tile is typically recommended for workshop purposes? Your floor above looks great. Also, do you happen to have any pictures of the tile transition at the garage door? Does the tile stop right where the door closes, or does it extend out a few inches?
Many thanks, all. I think I just take good pictures. The garage looks better in photographs. An advantage of a white floor is that it is easy to find dropped wasters, etc. Nathan, there are specialist tiles, tut many have done well with ordinary files in their workshops. Visit the forum Garage Journal. They have a huge discussion forum just on floors. Very instructive. I am away presently and have no pictures on this computer. The level garage filed floor stops just before where the rollup door drops down. The short (about 8") ramp is also tiled and leads to the garage floor. Not as classy as some of the other garages posted here, but the floor is a very functional epoxy with grip even when wet. Does not chip with dropped tools, does not fade with the sun, does not require anything other than an occasional rinse. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does anyone have experience with using high commercial grade vinyl for a garage? Just for parking cars and not working on them. CC

The workshop in use today I replaced the oil hoses from the heat exchanger. The workshop is not a large one, but is pleasant to work in, as the tool cabinets and bench are nearby. It was meant to have a vacant slot next to the lift area, but I have run out of parking space so that is occupied now. Ideally, I should have glass sliding doors behind the roll-up garage door, so I can have light and air-conditioning in the work area. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I went on a nice early drive this morning and took this phone photo of the Dino as it cooled on the driveway. I thought I would show the outside of my garage, which is actually not a large structure. Puttering inside a car the other night, I caught a glimpse of the chaise lounge in the garage. Although I have had it almost 20 years, I was struck by how good it looked, particularly from my perspective in the car. I had to take out my phone and take this photo. Yet the chair, by the architect Le Corbusier, was designed in 1928. Almost 90 years ago. Good design is timeless. Our Dinos are like that as well. Andres Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've got the same chair, since 15 years. But my garage doesn't look anything like yours so it's in my theatre room BTW the LC4 is the best chair for a backache. Takes all pressure off the lower back. Also fun for other activities, with a friend
