Maybe later. Right now I am more into the valves and ECU project. Seriously though, we need to get Jeff to Churches so we can see if those things added anything to his car. If so and it's significant, I will get a set, for sure. Not spending that kind of money for looks.

The headers do extract more power, but to get the most out of them they need a proper tune. For crying out loud you've seen the results from my before and after header dyno's. Look here it is the sheet again, and that is on the stock tune. It will be even better once it can't get actively tuned on the dyno. You need a set of better headers haole.

Andy, I am up here in Finksburg and have used a dyno on other cars years ago at IAG motorsports in Westminster. They are a premier Subaru hi po tuner. Not sure of what type dyno or if it is still available . I would think the loss is greater for drivetrain than 8% but far smarter guys on here than me. I would think 10 to 12% but regardless I think you are making easily the advertised horse power and probably slightly more. I worked in Severna Park for 20 years, Annapolis is a beautiful place and anyone who can in the brotherhood should try to visit.

Ernie, you fool. Your car doesn't yield any significant power over mine despite your headers. I need more proof before I blow $3500. We've already acknowledged the difference between our cars is the tapered TBs, which I may get around to. Honestly, for 3 more HP, it's not high on the list. Once I improve the valves I may have to get headers, but for now it would be getting ahead of my plans. As I recall, your headers actually cost you mid range.

Go to Yellow Compass you will find the cost about 2/3 what you are saying. They are beautiful.

All this talk about horsepower and a sunny Socal day...I think I'll drive my V-12 500hp down to Bruce's since he is probably thinking about lunch right about now. Care to join us?

    You're the fool, fool.

My header comparison was a before and after on MY engine. So on MY engine compared to the stock headers it proved I made more power, AGAIN on MY engine ya doofus. Besides my engine is a bit "tired" as it has 86,000 miles on the clock.

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13ks9lQLpPY[/ame]

On top of that, Andrew's car is only -6hp short of your best put on bone stock tbs, and unported runners, and stock headers. Each engine will dyno differently based on it's compression, leak down percentages, cam timing, ignition timing, fuel pressure, etcetera. The comparison on modifications is what they do on the engine they are installed on. That is why we do before and after dynos, using the same dyno, so that we can see the gains or losses for THAT engine.

I think you are still peeved that my old girl's best pull still made +5hp more power than your SS when we had our dyno day, and on a tired engine. Hahahahahaaaaa :p

No, no they aren't. Many, many redline shifts, and loads of dyno pulls.

As part of my intake modification project I looked at the inlet hoses coming from the side vents. There is not an easy way to enlarge them due to the wheel liners and tire rub. I am hoping that once the air is in the engine room that straight runs will eliminate most of the issues. When my new air boxes arrive they will have a straight run to the MAF"S and a 90 degree turn into the throttled bodies. Pictures to follow.

That was funny. The most tires, not a garage queen subject to maximum stoogieness made the most horsepower. LMAO!

It was 3 HP and Ernie will never let it go - until I best him with my upgrades. ;) Of course, there are too many variables to account for the difference. Our cars have different transmissions, for one, so the dyno uses different math. Also, from day to day, pull to pull, you are likely to get different readings. I will let Ernie bask in his 3 HP for now. His poor old girl needs something to be proud of occasionally. ;)

It's all in good fun haole. If I make more power, if you, make more power, if Andy makes more power, if Steve makes more power. The point is to help ALL in the 348 Brotherhood to unlock the hidden potential of their f119s. That is what this thread is all about.

Has anybody here played with Coil on Plug setups on their 348's? I am wondering if this would yeild any benefit. I have done this on my Mitsubishi EVO and picked up some power. It will eliminate the leads which are prone to break down over time.

Also for anybody that has, do you have a suitable part number AND did you just wire the coils in without the use of any other ignition box between the standard ignition module and the coils?

There are a few threads on using denso coil packs with after market management, I found while searching for the same subject.

I have 2 sets waiting to go on for my 355's. I'll see if they fit the 348. I would use them with an MSD box for extra ooommp

I know people use the Prius coils on other motors out there and I think they'd be something to look at. They have a built in igniter and don't necessarily need another box.
