I have been staring at the gorgeous piece of red colored machinery in my garage for what seems to be an eternity! In your opinion, have we finally reached the time of year when (after the next rainfall to wash away the salt, etc) she can see the light of day? I've seen some of you guys have already been to Glastonbury in your F cars, but do you think we're done with the snow and cr@p on our roads for the next 9mths or so? I.....need......my.....Ferrari.....fix!!! LOL CheerZ
The rains last week have washed all the salt off the roads around where live. I fully intend to take the car out on Wednesday. Unfortunately the rains didn't do anything for the potholes.
I had my 550 out last Wednesday. Went easy as temps were below freezing, but I got my fix in before mud season arrives. I live on a dirt road and I can't get, won't take, the car out during the spring mud season.
Wow, not my experience around here in Wellesley and Newton where the roads are white with salt residue. Must have been pre-emptive for the ice storm that wasn't. Having moved here from southern CT in 2014, I simply cannot believe how much salt is used on the roads up here.
yeah absolutely, everything continues to deteriorate with little efforts to do any kind of decent repair. I'm on the South Shore and it's a mess anywhere trying to take a nice drive. It was really frustrating last summer and it looks like it will be even worse this year.
Warmed up my car on Sunday, after its winter rest. Wednesday looks to be ~70, so it feels like it is just about time. Roads near me (Hopkinton) seem OK, but i am in a watershed area of town with low salt use.
We got salted in southern CT a few days back, roads still pretty white here. Waiting for that true first sign of spring...street sweepers!
Yeah unfortunately we've got that white junk all over the roads here in my area, negating any possibility of taking the car out until it rains and rains well. And I agree too about the pot holes. My daily driver has very stiff suspension and the roads are so bad the potholes have nearly dislodged fillings right out of my mouth. Ugh!
Could not help myself today, went for a good long drive with the top down. Risked a few new paint chips as the side roads still have a fair bit of dirt on them.... but did not see any new ones after the drive.
took mine out for the first drive of 2016 last Saturday. I had a great drive yesterday in NH as well. BDel
Reminds me of the winter of 2000 (IIRC), where we got exactly two small snowstorms all winter in Fairfield County and virtually no salt on the roads so I could go for a Ferrari drive basically every weekend from December to April.
There is a FCA event at Ferrari of New England this coming Saturday from 10-noon. Tour of service area and discussion on tires etc.
Over the weekend I prepped the car to come out, only to be greeted by more crappy weather today. Looks like it'll last all week too. At least the salt and that white stuff is being washed off the roads.
Sunday March 13th and I went for a drive in the 512TR on clean roads in Maine! That may never happen again...
