FAF? My car came in thru Vancouver as best I can tell. I think the black 'bumper' looks good on Dino Marionne Met paint. Sorry guys.
Thanks, semi Matt paint it is then. Really appreciate your replies, great 308 community here!! I'll post pics of the car when it's all done Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Careful what you wish for. I took this picture in 1981. Black/chrome trim. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Tommy, if you look closely, you can see an Auto Zone scratch protector decal around the key hole with a Ferrari logo on it... And maybe some double-blade windshield wipers with "downforce fins"... Some people just can't resist the urge to accessorize. Hahaha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think those are called "Euro wipers" I had a friend who loved those things in high school/college. Put them on every car he ever had. I hope he grew out of it.
When I do it, I try a 50% flat black / 50% satin black Rustoleum mixture. How does it look like the factory applied the paint; brush or spray? I suspect bristle brush. If not, I'll use my air brush.
Also sometimes referred to by Ferrari / Pininfarina and car designers as a "blood trough" --- analogous to the grooves found on swords. I would certainly avoid sticking a moulding or tape / adhesive stripping of any kind in there. Seems like a great way to trap water and promote rust --- and that area is already a bit of a rust trap on the 308.
Was it not tape in some cases? I thought I read somewhere on some cars it was tape? But everyone here says paint. Interesting.
This. Any moulding inserted into the belt line can trap moisture and the rubber can chafe the paint providing a place for rust and corrosion to get a foot hold. No bueno.
