I was hooked on the 308 QV first, followed closely by a 360 Modena. I still swear that the 308 is a much better enthusiast car than the rocket ship roller coaster experience that the 360 provides. My next project car plan is a C2 Corvette for an aluminum chassis swap and 427 upgrade to work on with my daughter. Agreed... diversity is a wonderful way to keep the disease in control.

Its a slow project. My dad and I work on it in between other cars but I'm getting antsy and want to get it going. The engine actually fires up, fuel lines are a mess and I recently got new fuel tanks that I need to install. Needs lot of body work & entire interior but the lines are beautiful and they are so rare its totally worth it! Plus its a V12. Now I'm going to need a Viper soon to close the gap :)

The 914 that I sold is the one car from my past that I'd most like to have back. A totally original and unmolested '74 2.0.

Boy can I ever identify with this! I sold a totally original '74 that had not been 'cut' for the a/c installation (therefore stiffer than the 'molested' ones). The battery was in its own plastic bucket, so zero corrosion or rust anywhere (original Texas car). Original flawless paint as well (red but no fading at all). Loved the 'dog leg' gearbox (like the 308 and my other early 911E) and what a go-cart it was!

Had five cars at the time (including my '84 308 QV) and got married, so the 914 had to go (sold it for $5400 if memory serves), but that was 20 years ago...

Disease still there for Ferrari's though! As stated earlier, no known cure for that... "My Precious"

Agreed. But no matter how much space I was given, I would probably fill it and need more. I'm going to test that by adding two cars worth (485 sq ft.) to my current setup.

As I have written many times, a GTB is a different animal than a GTS. The two variants of the car are complementary rather than identical: you will not drive "one or the other", they will both find their own use very soon.

Really odd how this particular disease works. Basically the only treatment for the disease is more of the disease. Sort of like diabetes being a disease of insulin resistance because you've been eating too many carbs so the treatment is even more insulin. Anyway, save yourself and continue accumulating more 308s. Here's to your health..

911 purists that have a temper tantrum every time Porsche tries to give them a better car, have no idea what their backwards thinking is keeping them from. The 914 handling was far superior to the 911. Still that way today with the Cayman. Put the 911 engine in the Cayman and dominate. Looking forward to getting my engine back from the machine shop.

Don't worry, I'm even much more diseased than you! :)

And then the 308 really looks fantastic, it's one of the best looking Ferrari ever: You can buy it in the quantity you like... :D

    Ciao
