For the first time in history, the post Q and A of qualifying was more exciting than the qualifying itself.

The qualifying format was horrid. A disaster.

    We're in luck:

    Group

"Qualifying! This weekend’s qualifying sessions for the Australian Grand Prix were awkward, to say the least. Fortunately, NBC Sports reports that it’s the last time we’ll ever have to see that format. Team stakeholders unanimously voted before the race today to revert back to the 2015 format.

The backlash was strong after yesterday’s qualifying session didn’t go as smoothly as planned. Several minutes at the end of the final qualifying session went unused entirely, as the super-soft tires teams preferred for qualifying were only good for one quick lap before their performance dropped off considerably.

Motorsport.com reports that the meeting with the FIA included the 11 team managers, who were asked to represent the views of their teams. F1 head Bernie Ecclestone was not in attendance, however, he made it clear that he wasn’t a fan of the new qualifying system to basically anyone who would listen ever since it was announced.

With unanimous approval, Formula One will return to the good ol’ format from last year starting with the Bahrain Grand Prix in two weeks. While this decision still needs to be approved by the Formula One Commission, it is unlikely that they will reject it.

Fellow haters, rejoice, and let us never speak of returning to this qualifying folly again."

I did, another Merc 1-2. A bit exciting at the start thanks to Vettel and then Alonso's crash but then zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Can't wait for another Merc pole and win next race! True edge of your seat stuff. Congrats Lewis Hamilton, WDC 2016
