There is a Documentary Film on You Tube called, "Airplaneski". It is about the pressures put on Russian pilots by their airlines since the breakup of Aeroflot. You need to watch all five parts. I know this incident did not involve Russian pilots or a Russian Airline, but it is very eye opening, interesting, and sad. It is hard to believe that the trusting, flying public can be subjected to this.

Did you know Aristos? We did a couple of draster races together. When i saw that it was him i was speechless..

R.I.P to all the passengers, crew and Aristos of course. A sad day for the aviation world.

My sincere condolences to the families.

Yes I did. Very well. We are from the same hometown, he moved to Dubai a few years after I did. His wife worked for me at my office here for the last two years. Not much I can say. Still can't process it. He was a fantastic guy. You knew him, you know what a great guy he was. We will all miss him dearly. Our group of friends here in Dubai is now focused on supporting his wife and family. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy but obviously we are having a hard time coping with the loss of our friend.

Mario you're right. There are no words to describe the feelings of this bad situation. Aristos was..a magnificent person. From my days back in CY, oh God..he was such a nice guy to talk with, learn from him... Good for you and your group for talking in mind his wife and his family. He would become a father in the next couple of months....

    F**k i still can't believe it...............

My initial thoughts also, but reading the part about training crews to handle GAO in those conditions and the need for more simulated training made me think otherwise
