I removed all emblems for a little paint work and detailing on my '80 GTSi. My question is...Did the emblems come with the double stick tape? I have seen examples both ways. Any thoughts on the subject? Thanks!

No. Perhaps broken retainer pins on your emblems.

On the QV, the emblem "quatrovalvole" is on the car by a double side rubber tape but the "308" has the stud with nuts behind it.

All my pins are intact...an example would be the Pinanfarina badge behind the driver door. There are pins but no way to get to them behind the quarter panel. When I took it off there was double stick tape...

3m double sided emblem tape works fine for those. Probably better if the tape seals out water entering the panel. I think all mine had pins with little retainers that pressed on. The nose badge had studs with tiny nuts and washers. The Pininfarina badge....I cannot recall what we did on it now. But just trim it so you can't see it. If this is following a repaint, give the paint some time to cure before applying.
