    You couldn't be more right with the phrase "in the grand scheme of things". I'd say just do everything you considered doing, as long as you feel it makes the car look better. Otherwise, down the road, you might keep thinking about whether you should have gotten option XYZ after all. Once you're past the initial sticker shock, at least you wouldn't have to wonder any more :)
