No - That's the maximum G force that they will experience (in corners the gyroscopic effect on the bike will take over long before they get to 2 lateral G and throw them off at the scenery). The point is, William has somewhat sarcastically stated that F1 drivers do not experience much higher G forces than MotoGP riders do - The fact of the matter is, they do!

Bear in mind, the issue isn't the pain, it's the likelihood a broken rib could puncture a lung. None of the injuries you describe riders suffering would lead to further life threatening injuries.
Please accept My sincere apology for misreading the meaning of the following post: Where I live in the UK, the use of "Yeah" rather than "yes" in a sentence such as that, tends to be done in order to purvey a sarcastic response to a comment that has been made. It wasn't until long after I had signed off from Fchat that it dawned on Me that, rather than being sarcastic, you were probably actually simply agreeing with the comment that had been made (especially as a sarcastic response on a forum would normally be finished off with a "rolleyes" icon to emphasis the sarcasm). Unfortunately, a quirk of the internet and forum sites is that it can all too often be too easy to misread something that has been posted. In this case, I am in error and again apologise unreservedly.
I've had fractured ribs, collarbone, an elbow and a concussion due to both a skying and cycling accident. Ofcourse relatively minor in comparison with the G's Alonso suffered. But the human body, any human body, pro-athlete or just a (well trained) amature, switches into a recuperation mode. Pain has zero impact. You loose a significant part of your ability to perform, wether you like it or not, for a number of days/weeks; muscle pain, stamina/endurance all suffer etc. Ask anyone who had a motorcycle accident, it's something you can't control. Your body decides.
